By Spencer . January 15, 2013 . 2:08am

layton-01Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies takes Professor Layton and Luke to the Arctic. The puzzle solving duo receives a letter that says a mummy has been discovered in the ice. After freeing the girl, mysteries about the Azran civilization start to unfold…

… if you can solve puzzles. Just like other games in the series, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies has brainteasers and a new puzzle to solve everyday even after you complete Layton’s final adventure.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies has a sub-game that involves fashion. Players can customize and coordinate the clothes of various townsfolk in a clothes changing mini-game.

Level-5 will release Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies in Japan on February 28 with help from Jpop artist Miho Fukuhara who also sung the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ending tune "Let it Out." Fukuhara will sing the theme song for Professor Layton and the Azran Legacies.

Really happy for the small but fun add on for this game. Hope that while this is going to be Layton last time as main char, they will give him a very big bang of ending.^^

So Layton is not only a gentleman, a scholar AND a brain-teaser expert, but he is also impeccably knowledgeable in fashion as well.

Because he NEEDED more things to make everyone around him swoon.

Have you seen how Layton dresses, of course he has impeccable tastes in fashion :3

      • Tiramii

        He’s just that good.

    • XiaomuArisu

Dont forget he is an acepilot and an excellent sword user.

I am literally fanning myself right now, because how can one man be so perfect?

        Just…. how?

Really? A Jpop singer doing the theme song? I will of course need to hear it before passing judgement, but past Layton games have always gotten me with their instrumental themes with strong strings and accordion. This suggests quite a change.

Innocent until proven guilty though. If Level 5 wanted to do a vocal theme, it’s probably a totally excellent vocal theme.

I think that since pandora’s box the professor layton games have their theme interpreted by a jpop singer. Of all them, my favorite is the theme for pandora’s box, iris by Salyu.

Since the 2nd game and on they’ve had female japanese artist doing songs for the games. Saylu for 2, Ann Sally for 3, Yuko Ando for 4, and Yuming for 5. They’ve even had cameo appearances Saylu plays the voice of the wealthy woman on the train in 2, there’s a character named Sally in the JP version of 3 which I believe is a nod to Ann Sally. Ando and Yuming appear in 4 and 5 with Layton Styled versions of themselves which I believe Ando used on the single cover of the song used for the game. They usually replace their singing with instrumentals of the songs in the US versions of the game though, I don’t know about the versions of other countries.
