If you buy Gears of War: Judgment in North America you’ll get a code for a Hammerburst weapon and a character skin for Young Marcus or Alex Brand.
Microsoft Japan put together a much bigger package. Gears of War: Judgment includes these items in Japan:
– Classic Hammerburst weapon
– Young Marcus skin
– Young Dom skin
– Anya skin
– Alex Brand skin
– Gears of War: Judgment t-shirt
– a code to download Gears of War from Games on Demand
The package costs 7,140 yen ($79), but retailers like Amazon already have it discounted down to 5,836 yen ($65).
Microsoft is also selling a Xbox Live Gold membership bundle with all of the same items plus 3 months of Xbox Live for 7,980 yen ($88), currently 6,527 yen ($72) on Amazon. Just to put the price in perspective, Gears of War: Judgment’s Xbox Live Gold bundle is the same price as a vanilla copy of Hitman: Absolution or Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
When Microsoft released Gears of War five years ago with wacky web videos featuring a monster under the bed shooters weren’t popular. The genre has been growing thanks to Square Enix who have been pushing Call of Duty in Japan.
