how about a link to the capcom page about the watch!

  • Dick Mountainjoy

I think the birth of the BSAA is the moment RE sank downhill.

When you have a group dedicated to fighting the “Horror” of a Horror series, it’s not horror anymore, it’s just another action game.

    • TheDarkEmpress

After thinking about that I fully agree with you. The original game and followers, mainly 2 & 3, found the team dealing with stuff that they’d never encounter in their wildest dreams. Once you have a specialty of dealing with crazy baddies the allure and mystery of such encounters is just no longer there.

      • Dick Mountainjoy

Even RE4, which saw Leon as a Bad-Ass super ninja, he was still stumbling in the dark, having no idea what to do and constantly getting his ass kicked. But RE5 and 6 BSAA sections are basically just Chris and Disposable Partner plowing through a warzone with no real thought or strategy.

Even Chris’s sections in Rev are just shoot things until they die.

        • TheDarkEmpress

Haha true. For whatever reason I enjoyed 5. The co-op made it enjoyable I suppose. But 6 was just a disaster, the co-op was just enough to redeem the terrible gameplay….they essentially turned RE into GoW with 6. 5 wasn’t bad imo, but it definitely strayed away from the roots of the series. RE is in dire need of a reboot.

          • Dick Mountainjoy

Nah, 6 just failed because it was trying to please everyone. Horror with Leon, CoD with Chris, and Uncharted with Jake.

But none of them were good at their set genre choice. Rev shows that someone at Capcom still “Gets” what a horror game should be like.

EDIT: And a reboot wouldn’t help, we’d still have the same idiots making the same mistakes. 6 had a mostly new cast and villains anyway, and it certainly didn’t help.

Leon wasn’t horror there were 2 to 3 chapters just mashing through waves and waves of enemies.Starting from the cathedral that campaign was terrible. Also one of the reasons RE6 is bad is that the story is quite terrible. The had a really long game to flesh out characters and story but failed terribly in my opinion.

I would have preferred a single giant , semi-open world(like the old games which demanded some exploration from players) with well built suspense and less outrageous boss fights.

Still, capcom is bent on defeating COD with RE.The will keep tearing that series apart till nothing’s left of it.

          • Dick Mountainjoy

Leon’s was meant to be horror, it just failed like the other 3 plots.

And the story always sucked, the older ones we are just clouded with nostalgia and 4 went with the camp. For gods sakes you spend a good half hour of 5 fistfighting a Neo-Cosplayer after fighting a clan of tribal warriors and boat shoot out.

          • http://www.facebook.com/aly.hesham.7 Aly Hesham

The presentation of the story was much better especially for 2&3 and even code veronica built a lot of suspense. The games used to be very atmospheric and absorbed you with the remnants of what used to be a city full of life.

That is fact. And in terms of pure analysis the older stories are still better.Regardless of nostalgia RE1-3 and including CV are much sleeker in their stories& presentation compared to 4~6.

          • Dick Mountainjoy

Better? It’s the same crap, a mad scientist wants to rule and/or destroy the world with a Virus.

At least 4+ had quality voice acting. You can really sit there with a straight face and say that Code Veronica was a well written game? Half the dialog is whatever of the 3 mad scientists you are facing at the time making silly threats and laughing like a Saturday morning cartoon baddie.

          • Valtiel Ikari

and RE4 dialogues where all that better? with leon chating with saddler like they where old time rivals from highschool? theatrical play nonsence in the dialogues with salazar? Making Leon less mature in personality compered to RE2?

          • Dick Mountainjoy

It was intentional camp, Like Evil Dead. So yeah, good comedy is better than bad melodrama.

          • Dick Mountainjoy

And seriously? Flesh out characters? Chris has been in like a dozen games and has always been a generic soldier boy without a single shred of character development until this one made him a drunk asshole until they handwaived it away with amnesia and Leon making him all better.

  • Ricewarrior

    $388 for that watch.

Basically get a $11 discount and a special limited edition decal since similar models from the watch maker’s website are $399.

A decent deal, but still damn expensive.

  • Terr

    people still wear watches?

    • Visa Vang

      Apparently still do.

    • AnimusVox

      Hey I do >:L

    • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Uh yeah? I mean, why not?

  • TheDarkEmpress

Was intrigued until I saw the pricetag. I know it’s a high-quality expensive watch…but that price can’t be justified for video game collectors unless they’re absolutely insane. If I was going to buy an expensive watch I’d….buy an expensive watch, not a vidya gaem.

  • Sergio Briceño

I think Capcom (and Konami) are probably the only two companies that include custom items in their limited edition products that IN NO WAY resemble the game, aside from a small logo on the back side. And often charge a lot for them.

I like the watch though, too bad I already bought a very similar one today… Geez, now I feel like returning it, but then I would have to get $400 more to aford this other watch…

  • Dick Mountainjoy

I’m a little surprised they didn’t add a “Operation: Leon” Chapter to this so they could sell another pricey jacket.

  • Jrocy247

First it was a Leather Jacket, with a unreasonable price.
Now its a fucking watch…..for $388. I am seriously starting to question Capcom’s sale pitches.

    • David Swink

I think you forget these are all Japanese limited editions, and note they haven’t released these in the US. there is likely a good market for nice limited edition sets in Japan that we don’t have here. also everything is more expensive over there, so relatively speaking it might not be that big of a deal to them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/aly.hesham.7 Aly Hesham

Honestly the name “BioHazard” is more stylish , makes more sense and shorter than Resident Evil.It baffles my mind why they opted for “Resident evil” in North America :v

    • Tails the Foxhound

Wasn’t BioHazard taken at the time?

    • Immortal1

In the U.S. they said it would have been very difficult to secure the BioHazard name. There was another game called BioHazard and there was also a band in N.Y. with that name too. Personally, I like the name “Resident Evil” more. I think it’s a little more evocative. It’s catchier.

    First Leon’s Jacket . . . .Now Jill’s watch, Can’t wait for Wesker Coat & Glasses

    • Dranzerkai

I would buy that in a heartbeat… xD

  • yoUNg_grOUp568

$467? Oh yeah, that’s like pocket change!

  • Valtiel Ikari

well, it less expensive than Leon’s RE6 jacket.

  • isotrex

WTF?! That’s freakin’ expensive. I was hoping a console or something is package in this thing. haha.

  • miyamoto

    lol BS AA

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Altin-Bujupaj/1157167838 Altin Bujupaj

I’d rather like a Jill Sandwich.

  • AnimusVox

Wow they made Jill look good this time <3
She was always my RE crush.

    • JustThisOne

:3 Me too. When they made her blonde, I raged a bit inside. (Then got creeped out a bit, because that implies Wesker dyed her hair. :I) Glad she looks professional.

  • almostautumn

Had no idea they were doing a full-retail release with this. Pretty cool; I had a great time with the 3DS title, and would definitely play it again. I complained then that it wasn’t as “core” RE as it was played up as, but after playing that action-movie not-scary-at-all RE6—I’m definitely dipping again.

  • Kuro Kairi

instead of giving us overpriced random item named to suit the genre they should give us stuff that is actually related to the game and a fan actually might want.

  • Ooh Bee

    Damn Jill looks like crap.

  • http://papped.webatu.com papped

Good quality watches are expensive, which is why it’s stupid to put one in a collectors edition…
