Summon Night 5’s Transforming Mecha Axe And Devilish Partner Characters

By Sato . January 28, 2013 . 5:58pm

Summon Night 5 is set in a parallel universe known as Linbaum, where they hold a ritual for summoners, giving them a choice between four weapons: Spinel, Berié, Kagerou and Dice.

The heroes of Summon Night 5 are summoners who fight along their soul bound partners, known as ‘Cross’. Players can choose between male and female heroes and will have the option to pick their own Cross as their partners. The Cross will have an impact on the player’s battle style in terms of abilities, weapons and tactics.

Players can pick their own Cross of choice, but let’s take a look at the default pairings of the recently introduced characters.

Karis and Meteora

Karis is a straight forward young man. He’s passionate about friendship but can often get carried away and scolded by his teammates. He’s originally from Roleyal, an industrial city known for mechanical engineers and robotics.

His hobby includes messing around with mechanics and providing maintenance. His Cross is Meteora, a cavalry unit from the Machine Industry of Roleyal.

Meteora transforms into a giant axe when he fights alongside Karis

008 009

Our female protagonist Seeda is a young mischievous girl with a bad mouth. She can be a bully at times, but deep down she’s a caring older sister type. She was born to a prestigious household but ran away from home to live in the city of Seivaal, as a summoner.

Seeda loves visiting cake shops and being praised. She shares a sisterly relationship with her demon Cross, known as Florté,

When they join forces, Seeda and Florté become one, increasing their abilities to a whole new level.

  • I miss Summon Knight: Swordcraft Story. I hope that gets put on virtual console.

Ahaha! I just noticed it’s the ad I got under the post.

  • puchinri

Summon night 5 looks like so much fun! I can’t wait til it comes out. ♥
It looks like the new team is handling it pretty well too, which is nice~.

  • Phantasy Mage Lv.24

Summon Night titles are such awesome RPGs. I can’t wait for this new entry <3

  • Pockystix

    demon yuri times

  • Hyli

Wow, super stoked! I really love the Summon Night games!

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I think this is going to be the final song for PSP here before many game developers move to other platforms.(T_T which i hope they really do considering that releasing a game on PSP had almost zero chances of coming here at all.T_T)

    • LynxAmali

It had 0% chance to come over anyway. We’ve only gotten Swordcraft 1, 2 and Twin Age. None of the numbered main titles have ever made it over.

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Well, we never know right? Considering how Bamco is doing localization spree here.
I mean, Fire Emblem firstly also never come at all but they started with number 7 first.

Who knows if they see that many wanted the game in future, they will just localize them as Summon Night?(No number first.)

        • AkuLord3

Its good you have so much hope but some of that doesn’t mean anything. Just because some games make it doesn’t mean all games will. Some have better chances than others unless something stupid/fair reason stops it from happening

        • LynxAmali

Fire Emblem was done directly through Nintendo as they own Intelligent Systems.

Bandai, on the other hand, has the Summon Night franchise and ATLUS USA published the original titles in North America.
Considering how stingy BanNam is with its ‘own titles,’ yeah.

That and ATLUS nowadays isn’t the same ATLUS from back in ’06 in terms of releases.

    • Doubt it. The PSP is still stomping the crap outta the Vita, especially in Japan. And there are almost three times as many PSP as 3DS’s. Of course it’s no where near the DS, but I wouldn’t say it’s dead.

  • OverlordZetta

Another great game we’ll never see in the west. Gotta love it.

  • shion16

Seeda reminds me Shiemi for Ao no Exorcist

  • Keyanf

“is set in a parallel universe known as Linbaum”

Atlus used “Lyndbaum” for the world’s name. I’m not sure if it ever pops up in game, but it’s on the back of Swordcraft Story 2’s box and likely in the manuals (may appear in Twin Age, but ughh Twin Age).

  • Darkbeat

I hope the relationship is as “Sisterly” as in Summon Nights 1 :3c

  • neetyneety

Ahh, good ol’ Summon Night. One of the awesome RPG series of my childhood. Hoping deep down in my ten-year-old heart that they bring this one to the west.
