Looks Like Arc System Works Will Release Vita Guilty Gear In The West

By Spencer . January 29, 2013 . 3:31pm

imageArc System Works is making Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R for PlayStation Vita. We saw a build of the game at Tokyo Game Show, but so far the title has only been announced for Japan.

Since it’s Guilty Gear we figured it would be localized, perhaps by Aksys who handles the BlazBlue series. Instead Arc System Works appears to be handling Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus on their own. JPGames found a rating for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R in Germany’s USK rating board which lists Arc System Works as the publisher. Digital release then?

    This is pretty fantastic news.
Admittedly I need to do more in my BBCSE, but damn could I use me some GG on my Vita.

    • neo_firenze

You do know you can already play PSP Accent Core Plus on Vita, right? I really enjoy that myself ;)

Pretty good port too! Maybe not 100% arcade perfect, but damn good and only like $9.99 on PSN.

It can be as digital as it wants to be, I’m all over this! I’m glad Daisuke has yet to stub his Western fan base. I really want the drama cd’s too, but, I can understand the difficulty they might present in localization as well as sales versus cost of voice actors. Still…maybe on itunes someday…I can dream…

It’d be funny if you could frc by hitting the touch screen

  • Isaac Todd

So… I wonder how long us Europeans will have to wait for this.

  • GO! GO! ED

That’s nice, but EU PSN still doesn’t have GGXXAC+.

    • Miguel Ángel Pérez López

seriously, anyone knows WHY IS THAT?

  • Steven Heryanto

I wonder what sony did since ninty direct, because vita games are announced day by day

    • TheExile285

They said a couple months ago Vita news would come in February so maybe all this stuff is early news and there is more to come? I personally would like a localization confirmation on Malicious Rebirth God Eater 2….

  • TheExile285

I hope they make BB Chrono Phantasma on Vita when the PS3 version is done. Extend was amazing. I think I’m at the 20 hour mark doing nothing but single player content which is great for a handheld fighter.

    • I would love this.

    • Edzo

i also really want chrono phantasma on vita. extend is so damn good and vita is currently my platform of choice

    • ThatAzure

I agree 100%. I would love BBCP to be available on Vita at launch. I have way more fun with Blazblue on handhelds as opposed to consoles.

      • Me to, i loved so much Blazblue on Vita ! I want to know the sequel story !

  • Make a sequel already, this version of the game has had as many iterations as Street Fighter 2 almost.Other than that, Arc Systems world domination plans are going according to plan.

    • They did, it was on Xbox 360, it was… well I’m sure you already know.

      • Noes! Does not compute, DOES NOT COMPUTE! -foams at mouth-

I meant well before GG2:Overture, premise for that game wasn’t bad just the gameplay kinda was.

  • Great day for Vita folks. ^_^

  • Magus KilIer

I already have Accent Core+ downloaded into my Vita,is there anything else in this version apart from online play and rebalancing?

  • Go2hell66

still feel like this port to vita is so unnecessary

  • Göran Isacson

I just want this game ArkSys. I just… want this game to be a thing in Europe, don’t care what format… *softly weeps*

  • Elvick

I’d rather it be a physical release. D: Guess we’ll see.

    • 324234

Yeah, really frustrating trend that so many localization (and releases in general) are digital-only. Vita memory cards are too expensive and I put too much value in physical copies. Not sure if the Patapon 3 method (Case with a code inside which you can technically put on your shelf) would be enough, but it’s something.

  • Mister_Nep

I’m starting to wonder if Arc Systems Work will just go forward with all of their games getting western releases by themselves.

  • Istillduno

That’s nice, now can we get the latest Guilty Gear that’s already been released on the Japanse and American marketplaces already, or is buying that a mission us in Europe are going to have to pass on to our grandchildren?
