By Spencer . February 3, 2013 . 11:03pm

Gust created a new scenario for Atelier Meruru Plus where Rorona’s teacher and the greatest alchemist in Arland, Astrid Zexis, shows up. Totori and Meruru are having a casual chat. Astrid shows up and disrupts shows up and asks  them to make a difficult medicine. Meruru gets advice from her two mentors, but what is Astrid planning? And will the mixed medicine work as planned?

Atelier Meruru Plus has new costumes like this red swimsuit with frills. You can see Meruru wear the costume and accessories you choose during event, battle, and field scenes.

  • Balance changes sound exciting!

Rorona din’t fit with the bikini costume in my opinion, damn, why every female main must have the fan service bikini =.=”

  • WyattEpp

    > Meruru also has a Gothic style dress.

No, really, I like that they’re making tweaks. I wonder what direction the changes go?

  • Gothic style dress is a winner!

  • gamefreak86

Wow looks sweet. Hope for localization.

Gotta admit, I think I prefer gothic dress to bikini as well. I think this is the kinda game were you should rather be overdressed in some impossibly complicated and frilly rococo-creation, rather than underdressed… if that makes any sense.

    • AnimusVox

Bikinis arent really my thing when it comes to DLC and optional costumes and the such. But I do like the gothic lolita look.

  • raymk

I love the gothic dress but that bikini is boring and not just because its a bikini. I mean if they are going to design swimsuits at least make them good looking.

  • LazuliteLiamz

Purchased Atelier Totori Plus from JPN Store about a month ago but haven’t played it yet due to work and stuff. But I’ll still buy this.. just because of the costumes xD

  • XiaomuArisu

    So many”Bikini sucks,Gothik dress rocks”guys ´here…..
    Thats great!
Bikini dlc for everything thats female is boring

  • CirnoTheStrongest

I mean, I’d prefer Meruru to have a costume that’s more dressed than a bikini as much as the next person but…that dress looks hideous on Meruru ._. I’m not seeing why so many are seeing it looks so ‘great’….except for the fact that it’s not as fanservicey as the swimsuit. Even then, her normal outfit looks much better tan that gothic dress. I think it’s just too dark, it needs a few lively colors to go with Meruru’s bright and outgoing personality. As it is, it just looks like she’s attending a funeral, which isn’t very fun.

I do agree that the swimsuit they chose wasn’t the best choice for her (they really could have went with a better swimsuit design), but the gothic dress is no better.

You don’t see it because you don’t have the same taste we have. What looks hideous to you doesn’t look that way to me, the goth look fits her because of her personality being so cheerful. To me that’s what makes it work and the costume itself just looks good.

      • CirnoTheStrongest

I am not saying that the goth look wouldn’t fit her, but I just think this style of it doesn’t. Of course it all comes down to taste, but I just feel like the design clashes too much with the rest of her. The personality thing is not me saying ‘because she’s cheerful she can’t wear gloomy clothing’, but it’s also not something I can explain very well.

Either way, I don’t think Meruru ever needed a costume change. And I really wish that Gust would stop limiting these additions to only the main character, like they did for Ayesha.

These changes just don’t really feel worth it since I have the PS3 version.

  • Saculogir

When I heard Meruru would be getting a red swim suit, I was sort of expecting a one piece for some reason. Not sure why, just felt like it would fit better.

Of course that black dress blows anything out of the water! It looks fantastic on her :)
