What Are Hubert And Pascal Doing In Tales Of Hearts R?

By Spencer . February 14, 2013 . 5:47pm

If you’re a Tales fan you probably recognize Hubert Oswell and Pascal. Both of these characters are from Tales of Graces f and also show up in Tales of Hearts R as battle arena guest characters. Instead of their usual costumes, Hubert and Pascal wear Kuro and Toro costumes, respectively.

Win the fight and you’ll receive Toro and Kuro attachments, which you can use to decorate your characters.

Exhausted from saving the world? Shing can unwind by playing a balloon cutting mini-game in Tales of Hearts R. The goal here is to destroy as many balloons as you can before time runs out.

The Wonder Chef is in Tales of Hearts R too, but you have to search areas to find him. Well, his hat. Find the Wonder Chef and he’ll give you a new recipe.

“What are Hubert and Pascal doing in Tales of Hearts R?”

    Honeymoon.

      Love this idea.

      One weird Honeymoon.
      “Hoi, hoi…”

    • http://strictlyapathy.comoj.com/ SoulArbiter

That would be awesome and so very appropriate. Awkward, but strangely appropriate.

  • riceisnice

    Wonderchef has been working out.

  • http://www.youtube.com/Lyonharvestmoonfan Eduardo Rocha

I would love to have an english version of this T__T

    • Ladius

I think almost everyone here would, and as unrealistic and naive as it may be I’m still holding a faint glimmer of hope about this… I guess I’m not ready to let it go even before it’s out in Japan :P

  • benhofb

This looks pretty nice, but personally I have never played any of the “Tales of” games. Some day…

    • Ladius

If you like good shounen themed jrpgs and great action battle systems you really can’t go wrong with this series.

Abyss on 3DS, Vesperia on X360 and Graces f on PS3 are all great entry points, not to mention the upcoming Xillia on PS3.

      • benhofb

Are they all self contained, or do I need to play them in some sort of order?

        • Christopher Nunes

Each are self contained stories, like Final Fantasy with their games as each one is their own story.

Though there’s actually sequels to some of them, Tales of Destiny 1 and 2, and Tales of Xillia 1 and 2.

        • Khoo Neekang Kazuki

They are all self-contained so its fine even if you did not play any of the other tales games and played another

        • Ladius

You can safely play Abyss, Vesperia, Graces f or the upcoming Xillia without any previous experience with the Tales series.

All the localized Tales games are stand alone except for Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World (a direct sequel to Tales of Symphonia) and Tales of the World Radiant Mythology (a spinoff involving characters from many previous games).

        • Tails the Foxhound

Also, Symphonia is a prequel to Phantasia, but you can play either game in any order without ruining the other because they’re set so far apart.

    • Kevadu

Well what are you waiting for? Graces f was great…

    • Demeanor

Just wait until you try Xillia and Xillia 2 ^ ^ DAT MIRA XD

  • Chris Cruz

Oh God… She bought the Dream Striker mech with her.

    • Jazlynn Lim

      The Sophiebot salutes you, Pascal!

  • sd28

  • kupomogli

  • Crevox

Why is beryl always making that stance/face?

  • Erick Jahzeel Maradiaga Mairen

true, wonder chef looks like it has been working out a lot XD

  • http://twitter.com/Tiredman_ Tiredman

Its nice to see all the fun mini games coming back. Chef was always fun to find in other Tales of games, and I remember one of the Tales games having a balloon minigame I enjoyed at the time. Glad these folks know that just because you used a minigame in the past doesn’t mean that you can’t use it again.

  • cedx123

Beryl looks kawaii I hope we someday get the opportunity to play Tales of Hearts R

  • JustThisOne

    Baticuloon returns?!

  • Nitraion

Wow Already showing off Bikini?! :O

  • CirnoLakes

Because the Tales of Hearts universe had a significant lack of body odor.

  • Raltrios

The game looks great! I really wish we could get a localization here. I’d buy a Vita for this, no questions asked.

Normally I’d keep it to myself, but I feel this must be said…
Kohak looks absolutely fantastic in that bikini.
I think I like Shing’s beach outfit more than I have for other past male leads as well.
