Heroman And Many Other Mecha In The Mix For Super Robot Taisen UX

By Sato . February 15, 2013 . 12:42am

The ‘Tactical Commander’ in Super Robot Taisen UX is a new system that allows you to pick one character in the intermission to lead your team in combat. Each character has their own unique Tactical Commander ability, which can only be activated when they’re selected.

These abilities can usually benefit the entire party, so choosing your Tactical Commander character accordingly can have a huge impact on your success in the battlefield.

Here’s an example of Setsuna is seen activating his Special Action Command ‘Trans-am Burst’, which lowered all surrounding enemy stats by 20 points.

Some of them can be used to immobilize all foes.

Or lower several stats.

Each character has a unique Special Command and special animations.

When you complete missions in Super Robot Taisen UX or defeat tough foes, there’s a chance you can acquire a ‘Skill Part’. These can be consumed by the pilots to increase stats. There are many Skill Parts you can collect which can provide you with permanent buffs. Stats aside, there are also some powerful skills that can only be learned by using Skill Parts.

I’m so gonna beef up Mazinkaiser and have him destroy everything in sight!

  • fyi1191

All those screens showing that there’s no chance of localizing this, right?

    • Which is too bad. Though, maybe we’ll get an extreme miracle and receive this, just like Project X Zone.

  • Seink

    heroman is a robot, not a mecha…. :/

    • LynxAmali

      Robot = Mecha.

At least in terms of Japan.

    • MrTyrant

That doesn’t matter nowadays, every robot or android/cyborg is consider mecha stuff. Heroman is not the first neither, we had Virtual On robots in Alpha 3 for example.

Im still waiting for Nanoha debut in srw lol

      • Tom_Phoenix

To be fair, Virtual On robots are “piloted” in a sense.

That said, we’ve had Giant Robo and Tetsujin-28-go before, so Heroman is perfectly fine.

        • MrTyrant

Oh yeah, I forgot about Giant Robo and Tetsujin.

      • Just Tim

Amusingly, Capcom is still missing in action (MIA) in SRW by virtue of Cyberbots, Tech Romancer, Steel Battalion, and Lost Planet’s PTX-40A & PTX-140R mecha, despite SRW already having:

        PTX-001 Gespenst Type-R
        PTX-002 Gespenst Type-S
        PTX-003C Alt Eisen (Beowulf)
        PTX-004 Schutzwald
        PTX-005 Wildschwein
        PTX-006 Wildrauptier
        PTX-007-3C Weissritter
        PTX-014 R-Blade
        PTX-015 Wild Wuerger
        PTX-016 Wild Falken

    Localize this please Nintendo :(

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

This is the main reason why owning a Japanese 3DS is a must. T_T

  • TheExile285

Is Heroman ever gonna get serialized?

    • Neckbear

It already did. Volumes 1-3 are available for purchase and 4 and 5 are up for pre-order.

      • Aunna Terrell

Haha. I was surprised to see volume 1 (didn’t see any others) of the manga in the Barnes and Nobles near me. XD I had to fangirl for a second, since I did enjoy the anime on Crunchyroll.

  • OverlordZetta

Still hoping Rinne no Lagrange somehow gets added to this franchise, but these are some nice additions even so. Has EVOL been added yet?

    • Altritter

RnL and EVOL will probably be added eventually, but typically it takes two to three years after airing for a series to get in.

  • Just Tim

Isn’t Heroman a Japanese comic book series created by Stan Lee of MARVEL? With that said, I call Iron Man to be the 1st American superhero to be in SRW, by virtue of Tekkaman Blade, a powered armor hero, showing up in the series.

Also, is the Tactical Commander similar to Advance Wars’ CO ability?

    • MrTyrant

      I would laugh if I see Stan Lee in the crossover. STAN LEE IN SRW! D;

      • Just Tim

It makes more sense if Sentinel made it in SRW, with a storyline that it’d classify “newtypes” as “new types of mutants”, paralleling X-Men mutant notion they’re just evolution of humans, which newtype pilots are being claimed to.

    • Tails the Foxhound

Loosely related to this, I always hoped they’d add Heroman to Marvel VS Capcom 3 as DLC.

      • Just Tim

Only if MARVEL itself would print Heroman in the US, which is not the case; that, or, MARVEL’s outright ownership of the Heroman IP.

        • Tails the Foxhound

Yeah, I know. I was just hoping Stan Lee would twist someone’s arm or something.

  • Isaac Newton

Can they add the Eureka 7 AO: You (Can)Not Copy The Story LFO’s

  • They’re calling units that have already been in “new” again. Stahp them. =(

  • Not only that, but there’s a dedicated group fighting for the localization of 2nd Super Robot Wars Original Generation. Let us unite and support Operation Hotblood. https://www.facebook.com/OperationHotblood?ref=hl
