Nintendo Bringing Monster Hunter 4 And Shin Megami Tensei IV To Taiwan

By Spencer . February 17, 2013 . 2:03pm

imageNintendo brought the Nintendo 3DS to Taiwan along with Chinese localized games like Super Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil Revelations. Nintendo of Taiwan is going to help third party publishers Capcom and Index Corporation distribute Monster Hunter 4 and Shin Megami Tensei IV in the region.

Unlike Resident Evil Revelations these games will not be localized, Monster Hunter 4 and Shin Megami Tensei IV will be in Japanese, but formatted for the 3DS.

It’s interesting to see how Nintendo is distributing Japanese games and occasionally Western titles in Asia. Earlier we reported Nintendo of Korea has an import store on the eShop with Kokuga in Japanese plus English games like Rayman 3D and Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7. Shin Megami Tensei IV and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy will also be released in Japanese on Korea’s eShop in the future.

It’s not like they had to translate the text though; it’s just the Japanese version with a different region code.

      • Shane Guidaboni

I can confirm this. My friend from Taiwan says that they either play the games in the original Japanese or in English.

      same here:)

  • Shane Guidaboni

There’s no way N.America isn’t getting SMTIV. I’m not even remotely worried about it.

    • darkfox1

      Same here!

  • FlameEmperor

What about MH4 for America? D: I love you Nintendo ;~; bring it here please

    • Tails the Foxhound

Even if they finished the translations this year, it wouldn’t come until next. Don’t wanna cannibalize their own sales right?

    • lordroto

You think it woln’t make it? lol.

  • $29082171

    My heart skipped a beat.

Goddamn it, was entering pure ecstasy till the last word.

    • lordroto

It will get here eventually lol

does Taiwan even make any video games?? that is so strange right? Japan, Korea, China are all big with gaming.are there taiwanese developers and publishers

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Yes. Taiwan do make video games. Especially on Arcade ground.

    • Andrew Chen

They do. It’s a market size of 20-sum million but its pretty much the same development level as S Korea. As such there’s lots of bored kids after their mandatory cram school lessons who turn to multiplayer computer games, especially the mmorpg type. They have a bunch of these types of games developed in Taiwan or china specifically for those markets.

I’m sure down the line we’ll get MH4, but it would be way too soon since we’re just getting 3U. If we got 4 at the same time, 3U sales would go down because “Why get 3U when the next one is coming out right after?”

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

For those two titles, i am not scared that they are not coming after all, those two titles is big titles.
However, how i envy the fact that we are not getting Kokuga here.T_T

  • kylehyde

Come on guys, is too soon for any reaction considering that both games have not even been released in Japan. I’m pretty sure that both have very nice chances for coming (a lot more in SMT IV case).

On topic, congratulations to all the fellows in Taiwan.

  • konsama

It’s still good news, may really mean we can get it in the occident.

Good, now let’s hear about that North America, big N. ;)

    • lordroto

      Patience is a virtue

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I believe so. Not to mention, some of Taiwan language also had some Japanese language inserted inside like when they call their father “Otou” and mother “Oka”
