Gust added a bunch of costumes to Atelier Totori Plus when they re-released the game for PlayStation Vita. Atelier Meruru Plus has new costumes too and extra outfits for Rorona and Totori. If you open a boutique you can outfit Rorona and Totori with accessories. You can even give Meruru’s two mentors matching outfits.

Unlockable costumes in a modern day game? *gasps*

    • Ricewarrior

I know huh? Since most games these days make you buy costumes.

    • Brandonmkii

I am 1000% sure there will be more costumes for DLC. But’s nice to have a good selection in-game too.

  • Interface23

Hoping we get both Totori and Meruru here

    • raymk

At the very least I hope we get one of them. If we are going to get one I hope we get Meruru since its the better game.

    * facepalm * This is where they go wrong for me when it comes to Gust RPGs.

I’m probably gonna get flamed for this but… when I want a JRPG, I want a JRPG * Lewis Black style voice * NOT A FUCKING DRESS UP MINIGAME! Christ.. its only a MIRACLE Gust happened to discover they were making games for a Next Gen console and kind of realized it was the Year 2013 and not 2003.

I’m pretty sure I’ve got more to fire out, but I’ll leave it at that. You may begin the flaming now.

    • M’iau M’iaut

There needs to be no flaming here, but please do realize this is certainly nothing different from Gust’s usual style — which just may not be your style of JRPG. Ar Tonelico was all about ‘dressing up’ the girls and Euro-gothic lolita clothing has always been the clothing of choice for the Atelier girls. The games hit the needs/wants/desires of their niche target audience, just like every other successful series does with its niche or not so niche target audience.

    • raymk

You aren’t going to be flamed but this is what they do and its not a mini game at all. Its also just an enhanced port of a game that was already made so I don’t see the problem with adding things like this to make it worth buying on vita. None of what you say makes any sense because gust has always made atelier games and they’ve pretty much looked like this. I think you need to do some research before mouthing off.

Also a word of advice, saying that I know I’ll get flamed doesn’t actually stop you from getting flamed and serves no real purpose. I find when people do this they are scared of their own opinion being attacked in which case if your afraid you shouldn’t say it at all. Just do some research next time man that’s all I ask.

    Is this an otome game?

    • Of course not. There are too few androgynous males for that.

Gust did make an Atelier game for the otome market with Ideal Factory, though.

  • WyattEpp

HNNNG young Rorona in lolita dress!

Actually, I rather like the military style. It kind of suits Meruru’s personality.

  • raymk

Not going to lie I really like the Military dress and the Aster Tataricus Dress(Does she have pantyhose on I can’t tell). I wonder If they’ve shown them all.

    • Watahashi

Looks like it, and I think they have a flower pattern on them. Meruru’s stuff so far seems a little more modest than what Totori had available in her game.

      • raymk

Ok I can see it now when I enlarge the picture. Meruru does have more modest clothing than totori. I guess because Meruru is a princess so I can see why.
