Z.H.P. Spiritual Sequel The Guided Fate Paradox Is Coming To PS3 This Fall

By Spencer . February 21, 2013 . 10:10pm

imageNIS America will also localize The Guided Fate Paradox, a roguelike developed by the Disgaea team. If you played Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger Vs. Darkdeath Evilman you have a good idea how The Guided Fate Paradox plays. You can customize the main character with a variety of items like Prinny tank legs and plastic hammers. The Guided Fate Paradox has players change the fate of other characters like Cinderella by diving into copy worlds, which are essentially dungeons.

The Guided Fate Paradox will be released this fall for PlayStation 3.

Wow. I mean wow. I just found the game soundtrack on the internet, and now this!?

This is the best week ever!!

  • Loli Barrage

Whatever Happened To The Witch And The Hundred Knights?

    • Ladius

      It’s still in development.

    • Kevadu

NIS seems to have bit off more than they could chew with that one. Pretty sure it was originally supposed to have been out already by now, but now it doesn’t even have a release window in Japan…

      • Sylveria

I don’t think they bit off more than they could chew as much as they announced they were doing it before the game was even done in Japan, let alone ready for a US release. They kinda pulled a Square Enix.

If you really want to ask a “Whatever happened to…” question.. Whatever happened to that Black Rock Shooter game getting localized.

        • Kevadu

Um…it’s normal to announce games before they’re done. I’m talking about NIS, not NISA here. The game has been heavily delayed in Japan, and doesn’t even have a release estimate anymore. Not a sign of a healthy development process.

    • According to sources at the press conference that was held tonight, they did state outright that Witch and the Hundred Knights is near completion.

  • Draparde

Awesome X-x. im so buying this!

  • Ladius

Fantastic news, this is easily the NIS game I’m most hyped for :) ZHP was awesome, and this looks even better.

  • chobitsza

  • kool_cid414

I just finished the main story of Zhp a few days ago this is perfect new for me! I can’t wait to play it.

    • Testsubject909

And in the meantime. You can play MORE ZHP! I know I did. Try beating Darkdeath Evilman earlier, see how that alters the story.

      • kool_cid414

I definitely plan to I would love to see how high I can get my total lvl to. I’m at 1243 right now

  • Hans Satori

I hope this means EU as well..

    • Belphegor

Region free Dood! No need to worry even if it doesn’t – importing is easy enough

    • Andrew Arndt

YES THE eu GETING IT TO::::::

  • Ehren Rivers

So they changed the name for the English version? I’m cool with that, it was kind of a mouthful to say when telling my friends about it.

    • DesmaX

I was expecting “Zettai God Project”. But this isn’t bad

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Can’t have “GOD” in the english title.

      • Ehren Rivers

That’s silly. Is this gonna turn into one of those political correctness threads where people throw verbal rocks at each other? I should go get my freedom hat and a collection of religious texts so nobody is sure what side I’m on.

        • Testsubject909

I personally don’t see why people downvoted him.

It’s no big secret that the US is touchy when it comes to religion. Course, we can only pull out speculations out of our arses because, well, we don’t got the inside scoop.

          • Ehren Rivers

I think people downvoted him because they thought he was saying that was his opinion, that you can’t/shouldn’t have ‘god’ in the title.

And I know they can be touchy, I know. I was being silly. Yay jokes!~ I would say that was likely the reason, but then again there’s stuff like God of War and whatnot. If the game has something to do with the Judeo-Christian god though, I could see that.

Or it could be because it’s easier to say, and in English it seems to make more sense.

      • kardonius

Reading the plot summary I don’t think having god in the title has anything to do with the change.

According to the press release, the plot revolves around the protagonist becoming a god, and traveling through a parallel world to affect changes in the original world in order to make peoples wishes come true.

In other words, the story is about guiding fate, or fates and paradoxes are almost certainly going to play a part in just about any story with parallel timelines changing futures, or events in the original timeline.

The title simply makes more sense, not to mention takes up a lot less space than: Gods and the Fate Revolution Paradox

        • Ehren Rivers

Hmm, that’s sort of what I was just saying actually. Grammatically speaking, ‘fate revolution paradox’ just seems… Wrong to me. xD

      • Locklear93

It’s stupid, but it’s true. God Eater Burst became Gods Eater Burst for a reason. People are so butthurt-ready.

  • brian

I’m really starting to fall for NISA right now.

  • Sylveria

I’m intrigued by this. I didn’t really dig ZHP that much but I’m curious to see what they can do with that formula in on consoles.

    • Tastes, ppl. (I’m not addressing you, Slyveria. Just curious, wht you didn’t like abt ZHP?)

      • Sylveria

I really don’t know. I didn’t find anything about it particularly unpleasant.. I just didn’t get in to it. I still have it so maybe I’ll get back to it someday and give it another shot.

This is a great game, i really enjoyed the japanese version : )

  • Testsubject909

Retail and I’ll be buying a copy day 1, that’s for sure.

    • Ladius

I think they already confirmed it’s going to be a retail release, I look forward to the LE if they decide to make one :)

      • Locklear93

In recent memory, have they ever NOT done a limited edition of a game developed by their own people? I’m with you though. Of their three announcements, I’m prepared to buy the $90 limited editions they do for two of them.

  • Alex Sargeant

YES! Disgaea I’ll try again because I’m unhappy that I didn’t stick with Disgaea 4 all that long. Time and Eternity something something I’ll try because even if it’s awful it’s a real curious kind of awful.

This is the one I’m extremely glad is coming over though. I mean damn, that theme song is incredible. ZHP was also great and it sucks that anything that isn’t Disgaea seems to sell pretty weakly.

    • Anime10121

You MUST finish 4! I COMMAND YOU! I mean, that game
is literally the best Disgaea since the first one, and Valvatorez could
star in a game by himself and it would be awesome :P

      • Steven Lamphere

I completely agree with you on that one. The first Disgaea was my absolute favorite until I played the fourth. Valvatorez made that game awesome plus it helped that you could also get King Krecheskvoy as a post game character (I like how they changed him to make him look similar to Vyers so there would be an actual reason for him to look like that when he was reincarnated)

  • So, oh so very excited for this. I had been very hyped up following its original announcement for Japan and now, to know that it’s coming here, I’m ecstatic!

  • I loved that trailer to the max! Visuals and characters were cool, and it’s always nice to hear Yui’s voice =^_^= I must have this soundtrack, and the game looks like so much fun. NISA is getting a lot of my money this year lol

    • Yuriangels

      NISA for life!!!

  • Go2hell66

    good year for JRPGS

  • Go2hell66

gotta love those Mirai Nikki tunes

  • michel

Amazing artwork, but this game is not for me…

  • God bless you, NISA.

  • Ceci “Ruzuzu” Kiyomizu

Day 1 buy automatically take my MONEY NISA!

  • gamerdude

I prefer ZHP’s pace to disgaia games. Now it seems like we get that with all the visual goodness of the latter I couldn’t be more excited for this.
The decisions also feel more important since your party is basically you and there’s more to lose by dying.

I’d recommend ZHP to anyone waiting for this game. It’s a great game.

  • OMG YES! Thk a bunch, NISA! *watches trailer*

    “Welcome to my secret garden”
So we are diving into your mind? I blame Extra CCC for tht random thought of mine.

“I shall lift the curtain for a bloodbath again tonight”
YANDERE RADAR READING: Navigate carefully around this one and run if you can.

Also I notice tht they switched Kami-sama for other words in some of the angels line…

  • vileBrenman

Yes very good. Very good indeed

  • roxas sora

  • Zonic505

If it’s as fast paced as Z.H.P, then I think I’ll have interest in this.

& damn, that music was pretty sweet as well.

  • noctis_nox

    NISA! I love you!
ZHP is one of the interesting game I have played although haven’t finish it yet.
    Definitely a buy for me.
    Backlog is piling up. ugh!

  • Loli Barrage

All 3 games announced by NISA are day 1 buys

  • Göran Isacson

So… it’s out for the West? As in localized? As in in a language I can understand?

I… I just have something in my eyes, that’s all… and my heart… except soon I will NOT have anything in my wallet.

  • Höhlenmensch

I really like Disgaea, but it’s nice to have a new setting once in a while. I would love to see Phantom Brave 2 as well.

  • Goddamn that main theme is all over the place…

I’ll wait for reviews on this, kinda sick of the standard NIS tactics formula, so we’ll see what reviews say.

    • WyattEpp

It’s not even an SRPG. It’s a light roguelike.

  • Demeanor

Glad to see NISA really really came through after that looong silence and that – let’s say “incident” – with Ayesha. LE for Kamipara, D2 and TT? God yesss!!! In NISA we trust! And hurry up and give us some spoilers for your PS4 plans ^ ^

  • Anime10121

Want, even though I dont care much for rogue-likes (hate the whole lose all items and start at lvl 1 again type games), but this game has had my attention since its announcement! ESPECIALLY considering one of my favorite Disgaea protagonists is supposed to be in it. LONG LIVE THE SARDINES :D

  • Ravage27

    Bless you NISA :)

    Day one, all of them.

  • NIS America is really on fire picking up this and 2 other titles. This is going to be a great year for them.

  • WyattEpp

    NISA? Will you marry me?

  • Firekitty

I’m really happy to see that I won’t be forced to muddle through this in Japanese…But if that title is a sign of the sort of translation NISA intends to give it, I’m a little worried.

Not that quality translations have ever been a selling point for them, I guess. Oh well; as long as I can read the menus, I guess I can put up with having to listen REALLY CAREFULLY to the Japanese dialogue to make sure I’m getting the real story rather than some juvenile toilet joke.

    • KingGunblader

I do like the Japanese title better, personally.

  • William Carpenter

    Hella anime.

  • Romangelo

wow… english jRPGs coming to PS3… am I dreaming?

  • I’m confused here. Is this game a tactical RPG or a RPG similar to the Shiren and Mystery Dungeon games?
