PsOne Classics like Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy VII are also compatible with PS3.

  • Does it bundle the International versions of the games that got one? Too bad the FFV translation will be the base one from the Anthology as opposed to the superior GBA version.

  • Farid Belkacemi

Way too expensive for a digital collection.

    • Testsubject909

Plus keep in mind that there was a physical anniversary collection released in Japan that had all of the games physically included on top of other physical extras. So this digital collection is really underwhelming and overpriced, by our standards. Have no idea how much they sell for individually in the countries it’ll be released in.

      • Farid Belkacemi

I already knew about the “physical” collection and even then, I thought it was overpriced :p

        • Detrimont

even for physical copies that are next to impossible to get for under $200-$300 now (meaning 7,8 and 9) in good condition

          • Sean ‘Geg’ Reddie

Ebay disagrees with you, infact there is a bid ending in an hour for only $20 for 7 that includes everything and is the black label release… The PS1 trio are not THAT rare.

  • Already have I, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX. I think I’m good.

  • Got all digital final fantasy 1 to 9 (including complete collection, anf III remake)+ tactics+dissidia 012 at less than 100$ on the psn for my Vita. (all prices were cut, little time ago)

    • Testsubject909

They still are. The half price cut is currently ongoing for the entire month of February.

      • Where in the world exactly? In the US PlayStation Store, they are back to normal pricing since this last tuesday. At midnight. So, technically, it was veeeeeeeery early in last Wednesday.

  • Lazulis

    153/9 = 17/game…pretty sure they’re cheaper individually. VIII is $10 iirc?

    • Sylveria

Less at the moment. If that 25h anniversery sale on PSN is still going, almost all the games are only $5.

      • Sebastian Lothian

        The anniversary ended.

        • Testsubject909

          Well what do you know.

It was supposed to last through the month of February, at least from what I read.

          Ah well.

          • Sebastian Lothian

Nah, the article on this website said that it was only going to last for two weeks. That ended approximately three days ago.

  • Does Square Enix even live in this reality anymore?

    • It says “Limited”, so they’re going for it.

Also, doesn’t hurt them to try…

  • davidvinc

this doesn’t make any sense. first, it costs way too much, secondly, why is there a limit on a digital download?!

  • Sylveria

That is over-priced and the limit is stupid.

  • Sergio Briceño

And then it came a day when you had “limited digital copies” of games.

    • Testsubject909

That was quite a while ago. Notice that certain games have been taken out of PSN for example. That’s because their license ran out for selling the game, thus it’s no longer available for purchase, though the people who did purchase the game can download it via their download history as the data is still available for download in the PSN Servers.

Edit: Certain DLCs have also suffered a similar fate on the XBLA.

      • Sergio Briceño

I can understand that. As surely lot’s of PS3 owners will probably live with the fact that the last Guardian is on hold to make it for the PS4 and not be just released on the PS3. It’s actually just an assumption on my part, but I had to illustrate an example (though I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a double release, and mark my words, The Last of Us too).

You know, I can take fake promises, because at least it looks like they are trying to fulfill them and if they take a game out of the PS Store, it’s fine, some people got the chance to play it.

But announcing something as limited when there really isn’t a need to, is pointless. I mean, it doesn’t even make sense from a marketing point of view, the games are already out, in various formats, most of them on PS consoles and in various versions. So it’s hardly a collectors edition, people would be dumb to buy it right away because there are hundreds of possible ways to get the same deal and most are cheaper.

Not to mention, as a business decision it doesn’t make sense either, since it doesn’t cost you more to put up for purchase more than 2000 digital copies. It would be wiser to sell more if possible, don’t you think?

        • Marcio Campos

She is testing your customers how many gonna buy!.

  • NimbusStev

Seriously. Everyone please stop giving Square money for re-re-re-releases. The longer we keep doing this, the more they will abuse the series and milk it into oblivion. They were great games. Some of my favorites in fact. I don’t need to buy them on every single device I own.

  • Zenthos

I could re-buy all these games from ebay 2x+ cheaper than the price they have here.

  • This horse has been kicked so many times, it’s already completely decomposed and they are now kicking a pile of dog feces left by a dog 6000 years after the original horse died.
This won’t be the last time either. I’m sure.

  • echokanon

Cave is doing so much better.

Seriously. SE has became scavenger that is trying to rob every possible money…

    • Marcio Campos

But it on xbox 360 Japan never gonna buy.

  • Still haven’t realized that the PSone versions of the SNES games all suck, have they?

Just effing make them native for the PS3 already.

  • Nivans

uh, a digital collection for this price? ugh Square Enix doesn’t get it

  • $153 for digital files? Digital files that cost about $5 each on PSN? That you can already play on Vita?

    $5 x 9 =/= $153

  • Nozomi

    This is insulting.

  • Jay

Christ on a cracker that is WAY too much money for a Digital Collection. And it’s all the more reason that I’m grateful that my PS2 is still in working condition. I like me some backwards compatibility.

  • protofox

considering how good dissidia 1 and 012 looked…they are telling me the psp couldnt pull off emulating the Original Final Fantasy X on ps2? 1-X on my psp..would love that…guess i can tech. do the same on a vita when FFX hd is released..but still :p

  • Yuriangels

i am pretty sure that you buy all the games and save about 100 bucks!!!
