Capcom have provided a first look at their upcoming collaborative project with Valve, Resident Evil 6 X Left 4 Dead 2. As reported earlier in the day, the collaboration will feature characters and enemies from both games appearing in the PC version of the other, as DLC. Now, we have the first screenshots:

Okay, that is actually pretty awesome now that I’m seeing some screenies.

  • The Watcher

    badass

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Witch: I looooooove your hair Leon! Give me your hair!!!

and on a side note,……….. Chris vs a Tank………Chris won sorry I’m hyped for this

  • JustThisOne

Already looking forward to Ellis’ story about him and his buddy Keith, RE style.

  • Patrick Gover

I guess Leon really DID startle a Witch.

… You know, I’m okay with this crossover. I may not be a big fan of Resi6, but there IS something oddly awesome about seeing the two biggest name zombie franchises in video games crossing over like this. I just hope we can have Jill and Claire for this game mode too… and cross-over fan fic. Lots of cross-over fan fic. Heck, maybe even let Valve add the Resident Evil characters of their choice into Left for Dead 2 as DLC?

Also- this means I will get to see Coach, Rochelle, Nick and Ellis suplex and drop kick zombies. At least I BETTER get to see them dropkick zombies.

    • JustThisOne

Or I dunno. Jam pills down their throats as finishers. :I “PILLS THERE!

It’s strange because RE can be really cheesy and takes itself extremely seriously, while L4D plays up it’s cheesiness for laughs. I don’t know who would be a good RE ambassador for L4D, because I can’t really imagine anyone who would suit their shenanigans.

I.. I’d vote for Barry though. Barry for president!

      • Göran Isacson

That pill-finished WOULD be kind of glorious to see in action, not gonna lie. Also, Barry and Coach teaming up to pop zombie heads. The sheer beauty of that concept is almost enough to make a grown man cry.

        Resident Evil takes itself seriously?

        • JustThisOne

Sorta. It was hard for me to find the right words to describe it’s special brand of cheese.

If you take a step back, you see heroes that run in – guns blazing – to secret labs, belonging to secret organizations that create secret abominations. It’s sounds cartoony. But even so, it’s actually happening, and it’s actually lethal to the characters within the game.

TVtropes best describes this as narm.

Wow, that is one cool crossover, I like that character model of “Bob Sapp”. Can’t wait!

  • Kris

    Dibs on Nick.

If Chris can punch a boulder into lava I bet he could easily win an arm wrestling contest against a Tank.

Chris can get hit by a truck and still get up. I don’t think he’s in any danger here.

  • Biosphere

Yeah… guess one tank isn’t enough, Chris went and charge into two of them…

  • Vash bane

    O.O!?

  • CirnoLakes

    Wow. I mean wow.

I’m not even much of a fan of Valve games or Resident Evil. My main reason for being a fan of Valve is Steam(even though Portal is a pretty creative take on the FPS genre) and my favourite Capcom franchises are Mega Man, Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Phoenix Wright, Okami and a few others, not so much Resident Evil.

My only reaction is just wow. This is a really cool idea and a match made in heaven… or hell… as it were. I’m interested in this game for novelty value, if nothing else. I didn’t even get Resident Evil 6 yet, but I’m kind of interested in this.

Now this is the kind of “Westernization” I’m down with. Not hiring out companies like Ninja Theory to make games like Devil May Cry for them. But making well matching crossover games with talented Western developers that can respect both franchises and both of their strengths.

    Brilliant idea. Brilliant.

They better have Jill in this!
