Level-5’s Youkai Watch Is Timed For Summer Release

By Spencer . March 15, 2013 . 2:14am

image Level-5’s next mixed media project is about a boy who lives in a world with monsters. Not the fierce Shin Megami Tensei type of monsters, but friendly monsters from Japanese folklore. Youkai Watch is about Keeta and his classmates who live in a town with these creatures. Keeta’s watch point players to where Youkai are hiding.

If you haven’t seen Youkai Watch before check out this video. Youkai Watch, Level-5 announced today, will be released this summer on Nintendo 3DS.

haha, i get it. “timed” because this kid uses a watch to catch his monsters.

  • Reki Honoo

I honestly hope Level 5 localizes this in the west.

  • Pedro Tavares

Yay hope it comes to Europe, level 5 has tons of great 3DS games rigth now and we aren’0t getting any besides Layton.

    • ReveurIngenu

Europe has also been getting Inazuma games. Inazuma 3 will be released as a 3DS title in Europe (originally a DS title in Japan).

      • Pedro Tavares

Yeah but we are getting it pretty late, its still better then nothing, I have the first two games but other stuff, like Time Travelers, Fantasy Life(i believe it was announced), Ni No Kuni took a crapload of time to get out of Japan, etc they a an American branch and even in the Us games aren’t coming out, Level 5 is one if not currently my favourite RPG game makers it annoys me I can’t plat thier games.

If Inazuma Eleven 3 didn’t take so much time to get here we could be getting the Inazuma Eleven Go first game by now, the anime is pretty damn popular with kids here in Europe so I don’t get why they don’t try to do it faster, it could be just like Pokemon here with good marketing.

At least you get Inazuma at all. And, it’s on a region locked system now. :/

Level-5 is my favorite RPG developer, everything they do interests me a LOT and most of it is MIA forever. And lately most of it’s been on the 3DS. So importing isn’t an option.

What the NA branch of Level-5 does is beyond me.

Gonna agree with everyone else and hope and pray this ends up over here. And hey, maybe they can polish their Pokemon-style gameplay so it’s a bit more fun than in Ni No Kuni?

  • IshimaruKaito

this looks soooo fuuunnnn i really hope this does get localized!

  • I do hope this gets localized. It’s like Shin Megami Tensei for kids lol =)

  • the_rain

I like it already. There’s a ni no kuni vibe on it (not the artwork)
