Final Fantasy V Gets "Dimensions" Style Make Over For iOS And Android

By Spencer . March 20, 2013 . 5:03pm

Instead of giving Final Fantasy V a full 3D remake, Square Enix is porting the Game Boy Advance version to iOS and Android. Final Fantasy V Advance added new bosses like Enuo and four job classes: Necromancer, Cannoneer, Oracle, and Gladiator.

The smartphone re-release has all of the Advance content and modified graphics. Illustrations from Yoshitaka Amano replace the character portraits, which is a nice touch. However, the sprites which look kind of like Final Fantasy Dimensions look out of place to me. Perhaps, I’m too used to the original Super Famicom release. Here are some comparison screenshots.

I wonder which version of Siren will be in Final Fantasy V for iOS and Android…

Final Fantasy V will be available for iOS at the end of March. The Android version is slated for summer.
