This Week In Imports: The Third Return Of Ryu Hayabusa

By Spencer . April 1, 2013 . 4:00pm

imageTecmo Koei will re-release an enhanced port of Ninja Gaiden 3 this week. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge starts Ryu Hayabusa off with DLC weapons from the PS3/Xbox 360 game, changes the enemy AI so soldiers don’t beg for their life, and ups the level of gore. Perhaps the most significant addition is you have multiple characters like Ayane, Momoji, and Kasumi from Dead or Alive.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge debuted as a Wii U launch title and Ninja Gaiden 3 is about a year old now. Will Razor’s Edge be able to cut through the sales charts? To Ryu’s benefit this week is pretty light with a Japanese version of a 3DS farming game and Defiance in the West.

I’m pretty sure NG3 sold fairly decently despite awful reviews. Let’s see how this will sell. The changes in NG3RE are big, probably much more fun on Normal, but still a pain in the ass on Master Ninja. DOA5+ was released 2 weeks ago… I was contemplating on getting that or this, but now I decided that getting TN games at launch wasn’t really worth it anymore. Especially if I was low on money. Well, at least the hardcore NG gamers will like this. I’m looking forward to see some videos on YouTube (since most of them don’t have a Wii U and the Wii U version)

    • This sir is why we wait for Ninja Gaiden 3+ xD

haha, so true. Though I do prefer NG2 to NGS2 and NGB to NGS.
I think if I was that hardcore of a fan of the series I would’ve dropped a preorder as soon as the game was available.

NO sigma 2 + was horrible with very bad framerate. hence why i switched to planning on buying the two ps3 sigmas innstead of vita

Those are actually the only 2 TK games, the Tecmo ones, you would not buy at release. The Warriors and various series that TK own the rights, cause they just acquired a company that makes RPGs, would be bought on release…yes this was a poke to find interest in other TK products.

i playd both demos: before and afterchanges and after changes, RE, feels more like a classic Ninja gaiden game . anyone agrees? love the gore btw so much more efficient than the stupid qtes: the flow is uncut raw and good.
