Square Enix Porting Million Arthur To PlayStation Vita

By Spencer . April 2, 2013 . 3:39pm

imageSince it isn’t Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest, Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur may not be on your radar, but it’s one of Square Enix Japan’s successful new series. It’s a smartphone card battling game loosely based on the Arthurian legend with over a million users since it launched in Japan in April 2012. Square Enix also partnered with a Korean company to translate and publish Million Arthur in the region.

Million Arthur will be released for PlayStation Vita on April 11. It will be a free download and just like the smartphone version additional items will be available to purchase. While we don’t have free to play games for Vita in America, Japan already has Samurai & Dragons from Sega and Picotto Knights from GungHo Online Entertainment.

Check out the opening anime for Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur right here.

“It’s a smartphone card battling game”

    Oh no…

LOL Same here…sorry but this won’t be a member of my strong PS Vita library. ;)

See in my opinion the only thing wrong there is one word. “Smartphone”. I’d welcome a completely new, deep RPG card battling game on the Vita. With 3D monster models, upgradable stuff, customizable character’s, online battle modes and a single player tournament. With a nice reasonable price, maybe a downloadable? Would be perfect for the Vita too

I dont know, I’m probably the only person who would buy that. I just feel like there’s some untouched potential in monster card games

i thick a proper Yu-Gi-Oh-Game still could get some audience

I’ve just gone into anything from the big Japanese publishers around here lately with the mindset that that’s what I’m about to read about, but for some reason I let my guard down on this one and wound up extra disappointed. :|

Here is a free tip for thee:

Put your trust into companies that actually plan to make games and not “games”. Falcom does it correctly, Atlus does it correctly, heck – even Compile Heart is doing the job right.

        • http://www.hamstapowah.com/ Zaron

Falcolm is something that’s been obscure to me but has been winning me over lately, largely via their uprising on Steam more than anything else. Atlus is really more about localizing and fell out of my attention when their PS3 support was “nothing, nothing, nothing, Catherine and Demon’s Souls, please love us,” and NISA kinda stepped in and took over for them in the interim.

As for Compile Heart, games look really fun, enjoy the hell out of Neptunia 2 in terms of game play, but their moe fanservice stuff is too prevalent and not worth upsetting my girlfriend and most everyone else around me over. :s This really bums me out because Harada is the best but I’m actually afraid to even try Mugen Souls lest my house be filled with lolis and make everyone uncomfortable.

    Oh boy. Card battle?

  • Niko Sandwich

Yeah… I hate to add to this complaints, but when I started reading this, I thought SE had a whole new RPG IP, or some other desired, new RPG, only to discover ANOTHER card game.

The amount of times this has happened hurts. Circle of Mana, Bravely Default: Praying Brage, KH:X and especially ET CETERA… (since there’s many more…)

  • Visa Vang

And here I always thought Million Arthur was an “Tales” like RPG… (Haven’t been following it and only saw trailer on YouTube via Hyadain…) Disappointed.

  • Wtv

Actually…When I saw that generic character design, I didn’t even wanna it to be a decent game. Whatever.

    • Niko Sandwich

I looked up actual gameplay and the rest of the character designs are actually different… but it’s all (no joke) uber ‘moe/loli/waifu’ which kind of pushed me away as well…

  • AdachiTohru

Its a start, very rare to see square enix on vita

Square Enix is finally supporting Vita!

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/playstationunity DXVII

      LOL

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Umm…….. where are you when SE shows the new screenshots on FF10 HD?

  • fds_nextdart

I’d much rather have a localization of even Lord of Apocalypse before this~.

  • MrTyrant

It’s the card battle actually good? because one would say card battle thinking it would be bad and the last card battle game i did play was a glorious H-rpg with an amazing battle system.

    • biskmater

Mon-piece perhaps? If not, please do enlighten me on the subject.

      • MrTyrant

I said H, which means hentai game/visual novel for pc.

        • biskmater

monster girl quest then? but please, do tell.

          • MrTyrant

Damn it, i replied to myself instead of you lol

          • biskmater

Ah, yes, i think i had two routes left for that one.

          • MrTyrant

Did you did the secret route? with the true final boss? where you go to a dream world?

        • M’iau M’iaut

          Princess Waltz?

        • MrTyrant

Soukoku no Arterial, is really great RPG and Eushully is a great H developer. You have tons of story and branching routes with tons of character, secrets and replay value.
