Have Ragnarok Odyssey? Here’s What You Can Import Into Ragnarok Odyssey Ace

By Spencer . April 11, 2013 . 11:39pm

ragnaRagnarok Odyssey Ace is an upgraded version of Ragnarok Odyssey from Game Arts. If you played the first game you can import character data like your: name, gender, body color, face type, hairstyle, hair color, class, and voice type. Your clothes and the color of your clothes will go back to the default for whatever class your character is.

Weapon cards and monster cards will also transfer over. However, clothes cards and cards received through the near application will not transfer over. Any downloadable content you purchased for Ragnarok Odyssey can be used in Ace.

GungHo Online Entertainment is bundling two bonus costumes with first print copies. You get the Kingdom Knight Leader costume for male characters and the Princess Dress for female characters. These items give you Ace Spirits skills, increase your max HP, and ups the damage for all Ace skills.

If they localize the Vita version I will probably buy it. The Mercebary AI partner and Skill system sound cool.

Not spending $60-70 for an Asian English import though….

Especially not after getting the Mercenary Edition of the original game day one.

    • raymk

I think they confirmed both releases for the u.s.

  • Go2hell66

Oh thank god, you know how long it took me to farm my Traitors with Crit Attack+5 X2 !??!

no way i was doing that again!

  • fyi1191

Can she still do awesome aerial moves with that dress?

  • How on earth could you fight with a dress like that? o/

    • MikeTxn

I guess the crinoline can be used for defense, or just ram the enemy while spinning.

Either way, she must be strong to AIR DASH with that thing on.

    • raymk

Be very skilled and be a mage. I guess the crinoline can be the defense and it probably has magical properties. That said its gonna be awesome to do some moves in that dress with a swordsman class.

I wish we could upgade from the “original” version to the Ace version via DLC. Also those costumes should be available in every copy of the game. Its not that the game has so much enhancements and upgrades to justify a re-release…

  • PRGamerCub

wow it comes out so soon lol time to lower the first sony

  • dragoon_slayer12

Carry overs seem kind of week. Everything should transfer over AND bonuses should be given to do so…. This definitely outed my purchase

Let me ask a question, Is this game really that bad? I heard from a few people that say it isn’t that good but before I look into this I’d like to know what makes it bad. I’m really hoping it isn’t the combat.

    • Doctor Nebula

I would say it can get repetitive at times, but the combat is actually pretty good and fluid.

      • Repetitive? Well, yes. But it is pretty tasteful, not like those games where they believe one would have to grind in an early spot for 40 hours until you can move on to the next stage, and repeat that for another 40 hours. Here, the grinding is enjoyable, since all you do during your outings is train your player skills with you weapon of choice! Training here isn’t about raising character levels to raise stats.

I know I once got stuck fighting Surt for a long time. I had to go fight him over 100 by myself until I discovered what were his weak points, his patterns, and where to stand still whenever he decides to do his volcanic move. Hrungnir, the Frost Giant Leader, he was my second problematic foe, until I discovered that all you have to do was simply to lock onto his face and dash around in midair, making sure never to get near his head (the weakest of all weak points he has) until you break his shoulders (which they generate an invisible barrier that blows away any unfortunate warrior crazy enough to attack his face from the get-go).

This game is very fun. The online is also great! All it missed was the ability to do Friend Requests and Player Invites from within the game. And it was tedious to do so, because pressing home would automatically disconnect your session when coordinating a game with your Grouo Messages. A workaround for that, of course, was the Party Chat feature in the Vita! And the only people who don’t use it are those who are very shy to use the voice chat. Both features are very essential for this tyoe of game!

        tl;dr Get this game!

eh, I enjoyed it, It is not as deep as monster hunter in my opinion, nor does it have the same level of story as god eater, but it is prettier than both of them plus the Deinsleif mode is something I would kill to have on Monster hunter.

  • Ultima-X

so pretty much your character then…

  • Relytgninroht

Is it just me, or are the graphics improved from the original release?

    • shion16

      Nah its just marketing.
They edit the screenshots to make em look better

      • Xaxal_Ravenguard

Doesn’t even look upgraded at all.
