Mario & Luigi: Dream Team will be released as a standalone game and part of a 3DS XL bundle in Japan. The Nintendo 3DS XL Luigi’s 30th Anniversary Pack includes the game called Mario & Luigi RPG 4: Dream Adventure installed on a SD card and a limited edition 3DS XL system with a Year of Luigi logo on the back. Japan gets the next Mario & Luigi title and the Luigi 3DS on July 18.

Nintendo of America will release Mario & Luigi: Dream Team here in August. No word if the Luigi 3DS XL will come over or not, but Nintendo will release the Animal Crossing 3DS XL outside of Asia.

Oh wow, it’s surprisingly adorable. Not bad at all

  • Solomon_Kano

I really don’t want to go for the XL, but I would buy this one without a second thought if they bring it.

Come on, NOA! Make the year of Weegee complete!

  • $36598391

That is an interesting looking 3DS
not bashing it but i hope the Charizard 3DS XL comes out in NA
It’s really cool how it looks like it’s breathing fire which is on the back side of the XL

  • Hmm, a green 3DS XL with a white (L) like Luigi’s hat would’ve been better but maybe that’s not a viable option.

We finally got the Animal Crossing 3DS in the US and then this gets announced. I want this one too. Don’t know what i’d do if we got this stateside.

    • puchinri

I know, right? My heart was intent on the Animal Crossing one, but not this happens.

  • Tails the Foxhound

It’s kind of ugly, like Luigi camouflage…wait…I think it’s awesome now!

  • Nanashrew

I like it, it kind of has this camo design going for it. I do still hope for a full green 3DS XL though, preferably an emerald green.

    • puchinri

Maybe for a LoZ title they will~?

  • puchinri

Even though Luigi isn’t my favorite (main) Mario character (yay Yoshi and Princess Peach!), I do enjoy his character a lot and this is a pretty nicely done 3DS. The colors scheme and design are well handled. I really want it. >u<

I hope we get to see this in other regions!

  • AokiShizuku

A 3DS to celebrate Luigi’s Anniversary? I now regret buying a 3DS so early now. I must buy this and support the supreme leader, Luigi!

  • Göran Isacson

Sometimes it takes a long time to get ones just rewards. 30 years is a long time, but now? I’d say he’s done it. A console skin, a big damn mission pack that sounds kinda like a runner game, a game of his own, a prominent role in a new RPG… all I can say I want now is a platforming game where he’s the star, and I will be super cool with the world and Luigis place in it.

  • Farid Belkacemi

Animal Crossing 3DS XL > all, except the one for SMT IV :p

  • Haseyo

Just when we finally get stuff Japan does, they gotta throw another “neener neener we got this now!”

In all seriousness, it’s decent looking at most. If it were actually green, it would’ve been more appealing to me.

  • SuperSailorV

    I had a purple 3DS.
I bought the Pikachu 3DS XL.
I’m planning on buying the Animal Crossing 3DS XL (and if it ends up being really limited like the Pikachu one and my girl can’t get one herself, it’ll be hers).
I’m totally getting this if it gets localized, too.
One question in case anyone here knows though, my girl has a 3DS already but wants to upgrade to the Animal Crossing one. If we system transferred the old 3DS to the AC one, will the game still be on the card or what? Confused as to how that’s supposed to work.

    • puchinri

Heh, we’re in a similar scenario.
We bought the purple 3DS and are considering the AC XL, and I think we’d definitely get this one.

It should still be on the card. I feel that they’d have that kind of scenario figured out by now. But if you did have trouble, Nintendo has great customer service and I think they could remedy the situation for you supposing the game was not on the card afterwards.
(Maybe you can contact them just in case though.)

    Year of Weeegeeee indeed.^_^
