Atlus To Celebrate Their 3DS Games With A Huge Two Day Live Event

By Sato . April 19, 2013 . 4:30pm

Atlus have announced the “Atlus Live 2 Days” event, as part of NicoNico’s Super Meeting 2, which will be taking place at the Makuhari Messe convention center, in Chiba Prefecture, where they’ll have presentations related to their Nintendo 3DS games, including playable demos of Shin Megami Tensei IV and Devil Survivor 2: Break Record.

Atlus Live 2 Days starts next Saturday, April 27th, from 10:00 – 18:00 (Japan time). It will continue the next day starting at the same time until 17:00. The event schedules have not been announced yet, but Atlus will have numerous events related to their three upcoming 3DS games—Shin Megami Tensei IV, Devil Survivor 2: Break Record and New Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden.

For Shin Megami Tensei IV, Atlus will have a live Q&A session with key developers working on the game. They’ll be answering various questions including some from Twitter, where everyone is welcome to ask any Shin Megami Tensei IV-related questions using the #真4QA hashtag. A playable demo will be made available to all fans in attendance.

Devil Survivor 2: Break Record will have a talk event featuring the voice actors of Yamato Hotsuin and Io Nitta in Junichi Suwabe and Aya Uchida, respectively. A playable demo for Devil Surivor 2: Break Record will also be available for those in attendance; however, it will only feature the parts of the original story from Devil Survivor 2, not the brand new scenario that is reported to be as long as a standalone RPG by itself. Those who get the chance to play any of the demos will get a Jack Frost charm strap and 10 lucky people will be winning 3DS consoles.

Finally, while Atlus haven’t announced a Q&A or talk session for New Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden, they will have an Etrian Odyssey live concert composed by Yuzo Koshiro and performed by SQ F.O.E Band.

I put my money down for another tease about the next numbered Persona by the director of P-Studio himself. Whos wif me?

“So err we’re hard at work at the next numbered Persona. We’re err still making steady progress… Unfortunately I STILL can’t say anything else right now. Please stay tuned. Atlus will reveal more when the TIME IS RIGHT.”

    • Tales_of_Master

      I’m wif you buddy XD

    • MrSirFeatherFang

At least it will come out before FFVXIII. /sarcasm
What’s with you guys? When they’re ready they will show something. There’s plenty of other stuff to do while waiting for the game.

    • LightZero

Then you just lost your money. Atlus never reveal a game unless it’s close to completion. P5 is not a main priority right now. SMT4, Break Record, and and EO are higher on the list. Maybe P5 will be announce around TGS just to shut up overzealous Persona fans who thinks Atlus only Persona titles. Right now they need to be patient while those of us who cares about those 3 games get all the love.

      • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

No. You’re talking about a reveal. I was just saying not another tease. Lol @ overzealous Persona fans. Why so much anger? So much hate. Its not like Persona fans dislike SMT and EO and Break Record. Anything Atlus is awesome.

        • Persona 5 won’t come out until after shin megami tensei X fire emblem comes out. That’s the next big title from them.

          • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

Yea, that’s actually a pretty good point you make. We gotta remember that P3 movie is coming out late this year in Japan too – which adds credence to your point. Since after Summer, all these announced releases from Atlus will have been released… and we don’t know what’s in for Fall or Winter… yet. Imagine that FE x SMT released during then. xD

          • Yeah so we most likely won’t get persona 5 till fall of next year or later depending on when FE x SMT releases.

      • AkuLord3

        Amen to this

  • 3PointDecoupage

They just crap out those Etrian Odysseys.

    • Shane Guidaboni

There’s only 5 at this point. If you’re going to talk about games being crapped out, talk about Tales series.

      • Jungo

Final Fantasy, Megaman, Street Fighter, Resident Evil… there are so many other series that have 20, 30 entries in them, Etrian Odyssey is no competition.

      • neo_firenze

To be fair, the Etrian Odyssey series only began in 2007 and they’re already releasing the fifth series entry this year. So yeah, if we’re talking stuff released just in the fairly recent past, EO is right up there with any series in frequency of releases – including Tales (a series that has been around since the mid-90s).

I seriously doubt Etrian Odyssey has the staying power to be milked for decades like FF, Megaman, SF, and the like… but if it kept things up at the current pace, twenty years of Etrian Odyssey would have a pretty huge number of games in its own right.

        • Pombar

Yeah, but this one is not only not out yet, but is a spinoff. 4 Mainline titles in 6 years isn’t too rushed. They come out about once every year and a half.

    • The MegaTen series says hi.

  • MikeTxn

“Etrian Odyssey live concert composed by Yuzo Koshiro and performed by SQ F.O.E Band.”

  • $29082171

I’m gonna watch a stream solely for the EO concert.

  • Siliconera, will you have a summary (Is that the right word?) of the event one it’s over?

    • Yes, we’re going to try and cover as much of this as possible.

  • Ethan_Twain

This is unexpected. Is there precedent for Atlus putting together a big live event like this? And is there precedent for them putting together a live event focusing on a single platform?

And perhaps most importantly, will I be able to view the event here through Siliconera? And if not, where will I need to go to get English language coverage?

    • We’ll be covering some of the event depending on what is publicly viewable online and what isn’t. I think Atlus are just trying their hardest to push all these games together and get people excited, especially for SMTIV and New Etrian Odyssey both of which are a big deal.

      • Ethan_Twain

If you were to give it percentage odds, what number would you assign to the chance that this event will also serve as venue to announce a new title? Keep in mind before you go and poo poo the notion what happened this last Nintendo Direct :)

        • Honestly, in the case of the last Nintendo Direct, I should have given it more thought, haha. It’s right before their financial results briefing, which means they needed it to be good to get investors off their back (since they’re going to be reporting losses for the year). In this case, though, I really don’t see them announcing a new game. They’ve already got a stacked line-up as it is. I mean, it would be nice if they did, but I think they’ll want to focus on what they already have coming.

I think any new *major* Atlus games will only be announced after SMTIV is out.

  • Is the Devil Survivor 2 remake Break Code, or Break Record? I seem to be seeing conflicting information even in the same sources.

    • It’s Break Record. Back when the game was first teased, folks that were at Atlus’ event mistakenly reported the name as “Break Code”. An official Famitsu reveal later revealed the name to be “Break Record”.

  • benhofb

Well the whole “Playable Demo of SMT IV” thing makes me think there will be a demo for the shop at some point in the future

  • Zurashii

    I want news about SMT X FE! > 3<

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Considering that Index Corps is having financial trouble here, i really hoped that this event will be able to increase the intrest of gamers and increase the number of buyers here.
I love almost all Atlus game here and it will be sad if they are unable to gain more profit for their future project.T_T

  • Lazulis

All these cool concerts I can’t go to. ;___; Etrian Odyssey live coneeeert

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

I’m playing Soul Hackers right now and it’s awesome.

    • Adam Zaorski

Same, it’s a bit oldschool(since it’s a re-release basically) but I just love SMT games and I remeber the times when games used to be like this(I’m 28 in august).

I just can’t wait for SMT IV, and I still got Etrian Odyssey IV, Soul Sacrifice and on may 1 Catherine to finish till SMT IV gets released. Damn, so little time, so much awesome games.

  • Here’s hoping their sales increase. Live Atlus! LIIIIVE!

  • Jolly Snake

Jack Frost charm strap?! I want one!:(

  • Space_Ghost

ATLUS impresses me more than any other development company these days. I just have to give them some props. I’m sure they appreciate this comment ;)

  • SetzerGabbiani

The music in EO IV is spectacular, and should be in contention for one of the best soundtracks of the year.

I love that ATLUS is making a big push for franchises other than Persona. This is all very exciting!

  • Jessi Cat

The Jack Frost strap is cute~ Also, someone needs to ask where the heck Kaneko is, lol, being in the background for a mainline game is kind of a big change from the past games, imo.

  • Atlus is going to break me D:

  • Tom

Is it too late to hope for a Trauma Team EU release from Atlus?… :(
