By Spencer . April 21, 2013 . 10:55pm

imageThe last time we heard anything about Tears to Tiara was when Aquaplus announced Aquapazza. Arawn and other characters from the tactical RPG are in the crossover fighting game.

Tears to Tiara II is in development and details about the game subtitled Descendants of the Supreme King will be revealed on April 25 in Famitsu. Tears to Tiara II will be released for PlayStation 3.

The subtitle makes it sounds like a brand new adventure featuring the kids of the main cast. I’ll be keeping my eye on this title.

Back when it was announced it was hinted some of the cast would have returned in a way or another. But since so much time has passed I’m not sure if it’s the case.

      There’s also Utawarerumono 2 that has disappeared…

Game was announced ages ago for ps3 and now it finally catches light again…
i liked Tear to tiara anime and the gaiden ps3 game so i am interested in this as well.

Look forward to seeing what’s actually in the Famitsu announcement.

  • Need the localisation of Tears to Tiara 1 in english please.

    • biskmater

there is an english patch of the original out in the web, I bought my fair copy and have been using it ever since, If you mean the PS3 game then I guess you are out of luck.

  • KyoyaHibari

I had been meaning to pick up the other Tears to Tiara games and the anime so perhaps I should catch up soon.

  • Katamari Toys

Another nice aquaplus game that will not see the light outside japan :/

  • So they have never localized one of these games. When I read strategy crossover with fighting game it brought back great memories of conquest mode in Soul Caliber 3.

  • Shane J

Ooh! I’ll have to pick this one up. I have the first one and the “Gaiden” one. I love them. I’ve even been working on a cosplay costume of the character Arthur from this series.

  • Ladius

I will never understand why no one picked up the PS3 Tears to Tiara remake and its spinoff, they’re among the few unlocalized PS3 jrpgs in a generation when even extremely niche jrpgs (like the Compile Hearts ones) were translated.

Supposedly it had been on someone’s consideration list. Even though it would have been the all ages version, I’ve got to expect there was still a concern ‘certain content’ might get in the way. Googling ‘Tears to Tiara pics’ was going to bring up well, not the all ages pics. Just look at how the anime was marketed, completely hiding (not just ignoring) eroge roots.

      • Ladius

It would be a shame if that was the reason behind the lack of TtT localizations, especially considering how the original Tears to Tiara’s plot and pacing really suffered (imho, at least) because of its badly implemented, purely fanservicey eroge scenes, even if it had other problems aside from that. Years ago I was really curious to try out the PS3 remake, but probably we will never have a chance to play it in English.

        • M’iau M’iaut

The adult/all ages versions of things mucked up a bunch back then. Hirameki would get blasted for taking out the eroge from their games when all they were doing (with two exceptions) was use the all-ages version. Hourglass of Summer is an example of a darn good game (albeit in that damned DVD format) where the all-ages version is considered the best. Angelique is another game series which had been hinted at us getting that we just never did.

I still remember when the first the first game was announced for PS3. That game made me want a PS3 so badly when it still barely had any games I would like (now I’m flooded with them ^.^).
