Madhouse Making Anime Opening For New Etrian Odyssey

By Spencer . April 23, 2013 . 11:36pm

Atlus got Madhouse, the anime studio behind Paranoia Agent and more recently the Hunter X Hunter movie, to make an animated opening for New Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden.

New Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden is a reimagining of the first Etrian Odyssey game if you played the game with a cast of characters instead of custom made heroes. Of course, you can still make a party of your own in New Etrian Odyssey if you prefer. Madhouse also helped Atlus make the anime opening for Persona 4 Golden.

They were also behind the Persona 4: Golden opening I believe.

    • DyLaN

I think they also did the OP for P4Arena and P2:EP.

      • No one uses color saturation like madhouse. I don’t remember hearing that the P4A opening was them, but I don’t need to in order to know.

I love Madhouse animation. The more I hear about this installment the more I become interested in it. I really hope they add the free roam map thing from 4 to get to caves and dungeons. It was an excellent touch.

    • AkuLord3

Its more based on 1st game so there’s not going have the roaming around like 4

      • Insigma

        Eh, they might.

  • Wafflenaut

Looks like their pulling out all the stops for this one. I hope it’s a big hit so they send it over seas. I wonder if they’ll bother to do an English dub if they do localize it.

    • Zeik56

It’s more a matter of when than if. There’s enough changes to this game that I see no reason Atlus USA would not bring it over, and you can pretty much guarantee an English dub if the game has voice acting.

The only question is, before or after Devil Survivor 2?

  • Kefkiroth

Love Madhouse. They adapted Death Note and are currently making an excellent adaption for Hunter x Hunter. I also loved P4G’s opening. Can’t wait to see what they do with EO.

  • AkuLord3

Saw anime, got too excited for a sec until i saw the rest but still pretty cool add in. Come on Atlus USA, you know what to do

  • MrSirFeatherFang

Well Index does partly own them afaik. I think a lot of games are being localized faster like Shin Megami Tensei IV, I don’t know it’s JP release date, but being released in the summer seems pretty soon to me. I hope this comes out in NA this year… too bad EOIV was pushed into the summer for PAL regions

    • Yerld_CK

Index may still have a small stake in Madhouse. However, they more or less cut them loose, with majority ownership (~85%) having been transferred to Nippon TV a couple years ago.

    • Ethan_Twain

I wouldn’t wager on a release this year. With Etrian Odyssey IV coming out this year already, two within 10 months would be… extreme. For a genre as niche as this, spacing the releases out is pretty necessary.

Lol, Index is using that Madhouse ownage to use lol.^_^
Now, i can’t wait for the great opening again.^_^

“Hunter X Hunter”… movie? Seriously? Yes, they are doing the movie, but feel free to neglect that they also made the whole goddamn remake. I think that is a little more significant.
