God Eater 2 Gives Players A Shotgun, Assault, Sniper Or A Rocket Launcher

By Spencer . April 26, 2013 . 2:30pm

The God Eater series gives players a morphing weapon to fight monsters. It changes from a melee weapon like a sword or hammer to a shield when you want to defend. The God Eater can also switch into a mouth that devours Aragami and a gun.

This post is all about God Eater 2’s different gun forms. Players can choose the type of barrel they want for their weapon’s gun form.

The Shotgun has short range, but it’s quite powerful if you can close distance between you and your target another way. You can move while firing the shotgun or press R+O to activate rush fire, a special move where you dash forward guns blazing.

In contrast to the Shotgun, the Assault gun is weak in power, but has rapid fire. Like the Shotgun you can move while firing the Assault gun. R+O does a backstep so you can quickly dodge an attack while returning fire.

The Blast gun shoots rockets, which makes it the choice of weapon for players that don’t mind long periods of cooldown time in exchange for super powerful attacks. You can speed up your firing rate by using OP (Oracle Points) and triggering an Oracle Reserve which gives you rapid fire until your OP runs out.

Sniper is for players that like to stay far away from a fight while dealing deadly amounts of damage. The gun’s long reach and scope lets you target weak points to do critical damage. Sniper gives players a Stealth Field skill that cloaks you from an Aragami’s sense of sight and hearing. This lets you hide safely, but the field gradually dissipate and immediately break if you fire or transform your weapon into a sword.

  • zed grim

    north america plz.

    • Ferrick

this time with all of the dlc plz

      • TheExile285

Getting the game is more important than the DLC. We could get no DLC and I’d be content.

        I’m just not convinced it will be localized ;_;

        • Ferrick

true, but for now, we have SS, so i’m content for 3 months to come =P (1/99 with angelus!)

    • Tsunamori Nanashi

and psp too pl0x, not just vita

      • ZEROthefirst

If they do PSP release in the West then it’ll probably be like Black Rock Shooter: The Game and only get a PSN release.

        • Tsunamori Nanashi

wellp, that’s good enough for me

  • those screenshots look amazing. i wanna play *-*

  • Ferrick

hmm, hopefully they still include the bullet builder function in GE2

  • Sniper without scope is no sniper. But whatever, day one…

  • Andrew Arndt

    bring to the West

    • greyheart

let’s hope D3 would do the localization.

    • This. I’m from Europe and I also want it

  • Lazulis

Omg snipers with scopes, yes plz. If the bullet system from GEB is in here, then there will be even more OP bullets…so excite

    • xXDGFXx

The bullet system is amazing. I was skeptical when I first heard of it, then I was tearing down aragami left and right.

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

    Mmm God tastes like chicken.

  • sniper rifle finally have a snipe scope booyah~

  • Vash bane

their going all out with this arnt they

  • almostautumn

So glad I put some 200+ hours into GEB: even if this isn’t localized I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to play this in Japanese despite; I remember everything from the first game— just so damn good.

  • HassanJamal

So what exactly is the gameplay for this game? MonHun like with guns?

    • Ferrick

with all due respect, this isn’t monhun, this is a story driven fast pace HAM killer game

      • HassanJamal

Im just assuming its mon hun like. Im legitimately asking what the gameplay’s like.

        • neogeno

Yes the game was inspired by Monster Hunters “hunting genre” style but as a hallmark, is more fast paced. When it first came out, people began calling it a clone and ripoff of MH. But over time the game proved to have its own take on the gameplay style and went off in its own unique direction.

          • HassanJamal

Faster paced and story driven? Call me interested.

          • ZEROthefirst

If you’re interested in the game I have a playlist from my playthrough of it. Not saying watch them, but you can get the gist and a general idea of how it plays and such.

          • HassanJamal

Cool, will give it a watch. Thanks :D

      • ddh819

        what’s a HAM?

        • Ferrick

          Huge Ass Monster XD

  • Bluevirage

Never knew I would fall so in love with the first game. Put over a hundred and fifty hours into it. The bullet crafting system was so excellent and the story was actually pretty good!

I hope this comes west so I can have a title for my Vita that gets me to play it more. As of now it is sitting collecting dust.
