Hee, that scream really caught me off guard. I dunno if this OP is my thing…

But now that the OP’s out of the way, maybe we’ll get to see some gameplay soon!

    • Claud12

when I heard that part I was like 0_0

  • Go2hell66

bwahahahah that scream half way through the video
i actually looked out the window because i thought it came from outside

  • Neppygear

The song’s okay, but the opening itself is generally uninteresting and nothing I really want to see again.

  • Sheep

This looks really cool, it seems the characters have Stands/Persona(or possibly familars) type things, it also looks like it’ll be a grimdark, low fantasy(hopefully not stupidly grimdark) story with, I hope, some ridiculous plot or even a mix of that with a serious one.
Really, I’m just saying this has a lot of potential.

Anyways that’s just speculation by me, this looks like it could have a really amazing story in the right hands. And the fact that it’s a dungeon crawler(in the veins of the great Etrian Odyssey series, and ,most obviously considering the developer, Class of Heroes series[which I should play soon] makes me think that this could be quite a ride with hopefully a high difficulty)

The (world?) map reminds me a little bit of the typical SMT map, and I like that map. The environments for the dungeons that were on the screen for a few seconds looked pretty nice as well.

I just got a great feeling from the trailer and I think it’s good when a Japanese game trailer makes me think “I should try learning Japanese soon”

EDIT: They are familiars I just heard about this game from this news oddly enough. and yes, it hits the mark(mostly) of what I want / expected from the opening,

  • Keima88

    That akward moaning and scream…

Yeah… beside the weird intro I am intriqued that most of their partners are of the opposite gender.

    • revenent hell

At first I thought it was a type of yin yang thing going on but the one male kid has a male partner so that killed my assumption

  • I don’t know about you, ripoff or not I really want to play it. It looks like Persona 3 with a classic SMT interface.

  • IshimaruKaito

    i want this!

  • TheExile285

Starting to bother me that still no gameplay has been shown….

Just like with Valhalla Knights 3…

    • ShadowDivz

There are screenshots of V.K 3. Just search on siliconera.

      • TheExile285

Screen shots of this too. Screenshots can be misleading. VK3 comes out in a month for Japan. The fact that they are hiding actual gameplay is worrisome. I’d like to support XSEED with whatever Vita titles they bring over as long as its decent but I don’t know with VK3.

I guess this game gets a pass for now since no release date is set.

  • DanteJones

Pretty odd and lackluster OP, but I do like the art at least.

  • Vitor Duarte

It is unfortunate that this intro is really uninteresting because I am hyped for this game. The very short clip of gameplay(?) shown seem to be in the vein of Persona 3 Portable.

    • I think if you’re expecting this game to actually be like Persona, you’re not going to get that. It’s a first-person dungeon crawler for starters (with battles in third-person, by the looks of it). It also doesn’t appear to have a relationship system like the Persona games do. They’re going for a Persona “vibe” but they aren’t going for Persona gameplay.

      • vileBrenman

I think gameplay wise it may be like persona 1 with first person person dungeon crawling and 3rd person battles then. But the style is reminiscent of persona 3 that’s an opinion based off of the little i know of the game

      • Rohan Viajar

does it really have 3rd person battles? because that was my only concern.

  • Göran Isacson

Really like the song, even if the video itself is quite strange and tells me very little about the actual game. Does anyone know if their “personas” or whatever they call them are interchangeable or if they are permanent, and characters in their own right?

    • TlPPO

      Pretty sure it’s the latter!

      • Göran Isacson

I do hope so- having each character be “partnered” up with someone would make for more interesting story, in my opinion, than a nondescript, interchangeable minion.

  • So, any idea how this is thing to play. For the little gameplay we got here, it seems it’s going to be a first-person dungeon crawler

  • revenent hell

Ah I must be in dungeon crawler mode because as of late every one I see I instantly get filled with want for…..Though for this I doubt it’ll get localized but I’d definantly buy it if it did

  • The style of the opening still reminds me of The Bakemonogatari series lol. The opening didn’t really show all that much, but I still really want the game. It has such a cool aura to it =^_^=

  • Sapitntapit

    Oh…I was hoping this wouldn’t be a first-person dungeon crawler…

  • ZekeFreek

So much live action reeks of laziness. The song is pretty good though.

    • ShadowDivz

      I thought the same thing.
Then again, i hate live action movies of animes.

  • Damarius Wingfield

  • Lacie

Lol. That scream. xD The full version of the song doesn’t have the scream in it though. The opening was nice but I hope we can see some gameplay soon. :)

  • Kevin Schwarz

Wow I can see how much effort they put into this one…amazing.

  • Strain42

…Okay, I am trying to be able to say that this doesn’t feel very much like Persona…and I’m failing, and I’m sorry…

In all seriousness, I still think it does, but I don’t automatically see that as a bad thing. Honestly, the only reason I’m willing to give this game a shot is based on that similarity since outside of MegaTen I’m not a big JRPG guy.

  • hoez

Amazing to know that the singer (yucat aka YUKARI) was formerly a member of the J-Pop duo, RYTHEM when they were still together. She’s… certainly gone towards a different sound.

  • ShadowDivz

  • Lazulis

Thanks for the heads up on that awkward scream. Lowered my volume lower than usual for that. Uuuum. Those pictures of live action bg…that is so lazy. So so lazy. The exploring the city interface looks like P3P’s (which is a good thing, I liked it). I wonder if this will ever get localized…I’d certainly give the demo a try.

  • Syn

I have to say, apart from the song, that has to be one of the lasiest opening trailers I have seen, they really could have at least put some animation in it

  • DyLaN

Am I the only one who liked the integration of live action footage in the opening? Minus the awkward moaning and screaming, it looks pretty stylish to me. It reminds me of S;G:LBP and C;H Noah PS3 OP. I’ve seen even lazier VN OP but no one complains abt tht =_=

  • Lisa Fraulein

The song somehow grows on me… I like it :P

  • Chaos-Mafioso

Well, this might be a bit too late, but as someone already said, the scream is not even in the original song, and the song is great (though i liked the moaning in this ver. O_o)

    Full original song:

  • TlPPO

I think the song is super catchy–sans screaming. I like the overall effect the live-action shots give to the OP too, but with that said, this tells me too little about the game itself. It’s trailing along the same path as Persona, but I think the art is stunning so I’m looking forward to this regardless.
