Monster Hunter’s Surprising Poogie Racing Spinoff

By Spencer . May 2, 2013 . 2:33am

A poogie racing spinoff seemed inevitable for Monster Hunter. The cutesy Monster Hunter Diary game had a poogie race mini-game and Siliconera spotted a trademark for Monster Hunter Diary: Puri Puri Poogie Race. Well, here it is!

Monster Hunter Diary: Puri Puri Poogie Race is an arcade game where you bounce a poogie up and down to make it run. You can turn the Poogie to select a character. A button on the poogie’s back makes it jump or use an item. Three race courses have been announced, a snowy mountain, a volcano, and Felyne Village.

Is anyone having my same thoughts by looking at the video?

No I am not going to play this. The controls are to awkward.

But if it was a version where you can sit on it….

Time to motivate the little piggy “If you lose, I’m having bacon for breakfast!”

So this is what Arcade games have come to?

  • Ceci “Ruzuzu” Kiyomizu

Oh man I so want to play this.
Gives me a excuse to wear a felyne suit in public.

  • They should release this for PS3 with Sixaxis/Move support. That way I won’t have to fly out to japan to try this game out, looks like fun… in a very embarrassing type way.

They’re just using this to test the control scheme for their new adult oriented spin-off: Monster Humper.

It’s always funny to watch japanese idols’ exaggerated body language and hear their really high pitched voice. But seeing them ride little piggies… Man… This is on a whole different level.

Why do all the MH spinoffs involve only felynes or Poogies? Why cant we have a spinoff that focuses on the other monsters? Maybe make them playable like in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon?

      What, a mini-game grappling with Khezu/Gigginox? Or Whac-a-Blos?

…I would totally dig a rhythm game Monster Hunter though. You could avoid Plessy’s hip checks in groove! Kinda like Theatrhythm, but with Hunters grooving.

Why wasn’t I born in JAPAN!?

Ahh, Japanese dental work at it’s finest *sigh*
Seriously having trouble excepting this as being real…then again, it is Japan.
