When Pandas Attack Or MapleStory For 3DS Has Pretty Sprites

Such a shame that the Nintendo 3DS is region locked. While many Japanese games get localized for the West, I can’t say the same about handheld games specifically developed for the South Korean market. Aside from Crimson Gem Saga, Astonishia Story, and the DJ Max series we don’t see titles translated into English. A little ironic considering a Korean company helped Atlus reprogram English versions of their games.

Maple Story: The Girl’s Fate looks like it’s a quality game – if you like action RPGs with sprites. It’s set in the MapleStory universe and Nexon made an original story just for the 3DS game. Basic combos are done with a single button and you learn special moves throughout the game. It looks like players can ride vehicles too!

I’ve gotta admit… looks funner than MapleStory itself. A shame for region lock.

Seriously, I played MS for about 3-4 years back when it first came out. and when the DS game finally came out (and i managed to play it), it made the online game feel terrible.

  • Pockystix

it’d be nice if MS looked and played like that

  • Nintend should remove the region lock.

  • Ashurei

That looks fun as hell. I wonder if it comes out in Japan or not…

  • Draparde

if the sprites and animation looked like this in actual MapleStory, i’d most certainly be playing it X_x

makes me kinda wish this was comming out in other parts of the world.

  • Yup, this looks quality as hell. The DS game already had a pretty nicely animated sprite set, but this obviously looks better. The MMORPG should receive an update to make it play like this. That and now I have to look for a cheap Korean 3DS…

    • MapleStory is made to work on older PCs. Not everyone can afford better ones.

  • DAT Horntail!

  • those animations!!! so good! i would love for the mmo to evolve into that…they seem to be making small steps.

  • mm… wow.

I was expecting this game to have some half-assed sprites but damn, I have to admit, those are some nice animations for the sprites.
