Arcade Man Is An Excellent Addition To Mega Man’s Long List Of Robot Masters

While Capcom isn’t doing much with Mega Man in the West, in Japan they held a contest to turn a fan drawing into one of Dr. Wily’s robot masters. The winning illustration was Arcade Man from boss13.

Players can fight Arcade Man in Mega Man Xover, the extremely simplified social game spinoff for iOS and Android. Arcade Man appears as a boss and uses sprites from Capcom’s arcade games like Son Son and Ghouls’n Ghosts to attack.

Arcade Man’s arcade cabinet body and the clever way he attacks left an impression on the developers at Capcom. The retro design made them nostalgic for the good old days and they turned this idea into a full fledged robot master. The Arcade Man event is playable in Mega Man Xover from May 9 to May 14.

See,we’d be able to fight him too if the fanbase didn’t whine and moan and rage over Xover effectively killing any chance of it coming here :

  • Zonic505

The fact he can summon sprites from older arcade games as attacks is rather cool. Can he make a future appearance in another game?

  • I remember Nintendo Power ran a Robot Master contest for MM6 and two of them were winners, it was fun looking at fan submissions.

      Which ones won?

      • Knight Man and Wind Man.
I have the issue showcasing some before winners picked. Unfortunately the winners original sketches aren’t shown in this issue.

Arcade Man stop playing with your joystick and fight me!

  • Byas

Nice boss, bad game. Hopefully he can still make an appearance when they release a real Megaman.

  • MasterScrub

He seems really cool, hopefully they actually put him in a good game. It would be a shame to waste his design on that Xover crap.
