Watch Square Enix’s Transforming Car Anime, Gyrozetter

By Spencer . May 12, 2013 . 11:58pm

Gyrozetter started as a fancy transforming arcade machine that was part racing game and part card battling game. Square Enix planned this as a franchise from the start and also made an anime series that airs on TV Tokyo.

Super Speed Transformation Gyrozetter takes place in a world where teenagers drive cars that transform into robots. The kids in the series come from New Yokohama, which is the biggest city in Japan. Kakeru is the protagonist and he’s your typical happy go lucky hero. Well, when he isn’t rushing to Arcadia Academy as seen in the first episode of the anime series.

Square Enix released this clip to promote Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross, a Nintendo 3DS RPG based on the series. Like the arcade game it’s part driving and part robot car battles.

maybe they are worried that little American children will try to steal their parents keys and try driving?

MicMan Seki!!!!! Ina Bauer!!!! The anime is depressingly awesome when they start using their hi-ougis, or rather Final Burst and summon like Mt Everest in the middle of New Yokohama, or the Egyptian Pyramids, or the speeding bullet and Thunderclap ascension.

I will always have a weakness for Anime series like this. Hope this is announced for the west soon along with Little Battlers.

  • As long as this doesnt have 200+ episodes, I’m willing to watch it.

    • XYZ_JolteonZ980

I think its supposed to get around 50 or so.

      • O wow. I’m not sure I have time for that /_/

        • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Its already in the 30’s, and is continuing for summer anime season as well.

The art style/animation reminds me so much of the Rockman.EXE anime. I miss that show.

  • Gyrozetter has been surprisingly solid. It’s yet another kid’s show that has addicted me (along LBX, Ginga e Kickoff, and MLP).

I really love the setting. Also, the art style is fun, simple and has some crisp look to it animated.

I hope we see the series localized – the game and the anime. I’ve been looking forward to this almost as much as I have BD actually. ♥
