Arc System Works Celebrating 25th Anniversary With Festival And Tournament

By Sato . May 13, 2013 . 5:10pm

Arc System Works turns 25 this year, and they’re celebrating their birthday with the Arc System Works Festival, featuring a big tournament called Arc Revo, short for Arc Revolution Cup. The official portal site of the event seems to have some sort of countdown which leads up to the day of the event.

Could it simply be a countdown for the event, or will there be more to it?

The Arc Revolution Cup will feature tournaments for Arc System Works’ three biggest titles in Persona 4: Arena, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R and BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma. The final qualifiers will be taking place at the Tokyo Leisure Land Akihabara on the 18th and the main event will be taking place at the Pacifico Yokohama convention center, where we’ll be seeing plenty of other heaven or hell and wheel of fate turning countdowns, which will take place in front of a live audience.

The event will also be featuring a Guilty Gear and BlazBlue live concert called Arc system Works Music Live, along with a live web radio show recording with 11 of the franchise’s most popular voice actors.

Finally, they say that they may be revealing some new info that will be a first time announcement at this event. Perhaps this is what the countdown will  be leading up to?

Congrats to Arc for doing their own thing in the game industry.

I can’t wait to see the grand finals for all those games.

  • gold163

Possible formal announcements for console ports of CP and +R? Possibly some details on their other, non-fighting game endeavors.

    • urbanscholar

huh? Pretty sure they announced console version for everything. In fact you can preorder CP right now well JP version, no western date yet.

      In regards to +R it’ll be hitting PSN/XBLA soon…ish

  • Magus KilIer

New info possibly related to their Ps4 fighter?

  • Shane Guidaboni

Somebody, please record that concert and put it on youtube!

    • Isn’t that illegal or someting? lol

      • Shane Guidaboni

Is it? I’m not really sure.

        • ReynTime

i think it is. BUT DO IT ANYWAY!

        • Shariest

It is if they have said not to distribute it…If theres no “No no”:s anywhere it’s open season :P

        • Kaitsu

It normally is in most cases. But someone’s bound to do it anyways.

  • Lucian Kara

I’m glad to see Arc Sys thriving now a days. Their fighters tend to be some of the more fun and interesting titles launched at any given time, though I still feel as though they’ve been rehashing their engine a bit much recently. Hopefully BB: CP will provide enough change to not just feel like another CS expansion.

    • Kelohmello

CP’s changed the gameplay quite a bit. The entire game’s been sped up, characters changes have been pretty large, new attacks and system mechanics, etc. It’s a pretty big departure from Continuum Shift in my opinion, but just enough to still feel like blazblue.

      • Elliot Roman

you took the words right outa my month, this game seems to b the best one of the series

  • Yuriangels

i wish i can in turn in to the tournament, i can kick some major butt my man slayer!!!! :)

  • Tonton Ramos

The console opening of Chrono Phantasma please reveal it Arc Systems!

  • ReynTime
  • SgtKonus

I hope there will be a USA Qualifier, I would love to see a team USA go over there and compete.

  • Philip Irwin

    Let’s see… I’d like:
multi platform and international release for ChronoPhantasma
    Persona 4: Arena 2

As announcements, those two would make me happy.

    • If they’re going to make a P4A sequel in the future, I’ll hope they add the other P3 characters such as Junpei and Yukari, add more character colour options and give everyone their ultimate Persona. Haven’t played P4 Golden yet, but it has this new character Marie right? Wouldn’t mind seeing her in the sequel as well.

  • Go2hell66

Maybe there ps4 fighter reveal, probably not but i can dream

Btw that is an awesome banner

  • Matthew Baucom

blazblue vs guilty gear game that would be interesting

  • TrevHead

As someone who thinks most modern arcade (Streets of Rage) style beat em ups are crap (they all either 3D, NES style or get the character moves / animation wrong) I’d love for ASW to have a go at making a quality 2D one in a similar vein to Uprising.
