Phase 3 of the Beta is in a week and a half from now. Of course it will come late!

  • OathkeeperSoraXIII

you can check their new video out here

It looks beautiful, both PC and PS3

  • Enma_Kozato

Hopefully, I can preorder the PS3 collector’s edition at another retailer since SE’s online shop keeps goofing when I submit my shipping info <:I

  • Neophoton

I’m not much for MMOs (more of lack of time to play them), but nice to see the game’s got a set date. Some of my friends are pretty hyped for this!

  • pimpalicious

The CE is tempting but not sure about getting into a sub-based MMO.

  • Hedge

I reeeeally want that artbook, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it getting a game I don’t really want to play. :c

    • Elly Honda

      .

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

OMG, that looks awesome! This is a day 1 for me =^_^=

August 27th is still so far away though lol

    • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 水木

      My thoughts exactly

      • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Yeah, been looking forward to playing this for a while now, and this just adds to the hype lol. =)

  • Warboss Aohd

so how long do ya fink dis it’s gonna take ta tank or go free to play?

    • http://www.cubiz.tk/ Auragar

Eternity. XI is still fees and DQX is still fees. So yah.

  • almostautumn

Are there monthly fees? If not— this game is going to eat my life.

    • SuperSailorV

There are monthly fees. However, I believe there will be open beta before the actual release, and some of that stuff carries over into release (like a trial period, I guess lol). I think it’s $13 a month or so

  • Akuosa

I have the 1.0 CE, but I’m so getting this one too, it’s so cool…
Amazon.uk, let me preorder it already, throwing money at the screen it’s not working.

    • Eilanzer

everyone that purchased the 1.0 CE will get the new CE stuff ingame…you don´t need to buy again…only if you want the new book…card…

  • Son Hoang

Which system do you guys think is better for this game? PC or PS3? I’m debating which I should get. Thanks for the input!

    • SuperSailorV

I think PC is always ahead of the race with questions like these. I would hope the PS3 would be optimized so you wouldn’t get any slowdown, but that wasn’t the case when they brought FFXI to the 360. At any rate, it’d be at the cost of pretty graphics. I would say PC.

      • hunterrnl

        FFXI + 360 = Freeze mania !

        • Son Hoang

Alright, thanks for the inputs! Much appreciated! I’ll choose to buy the PC version. Also one more question, Amazon will definitely have the collectors edition up for grabs, right? The shipping price for the main SQ website is outrageous.

          • REDace0

PC Collector’s Edition box (with all the cool stuff) is only available from SE’s store unfortunately.

          • Son Hoang

            I gotcha. Thanks Red!

  • urbanscholar

For those wondering 12.99 sub a month
9.99 a month for legacy members
    source: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/

    • Son Hoang

I don’t understand though. It isn’t a month is it? The subscription for 12.99 is for 180 days, not a month?

      • Michael Martin

It’s $12.99 per month for a subscription length of 180 days. You’ll note that it’s $13.99 per month for 90 days or $14.99 per month for 30 days. You’re getting a monthly discount for having a longer subscription length.

        • Son Hoang

          Oh, I see.

  • SuperSailorV

If I didn’t bust my ass capping all jobs, getting all AF, all Ifrit/Mog weapons, AND qualifying for Legacy – among many, many other things – I wouldn’t care about this.

Yeah, certainly isn’t relic + luminary + Garuda-weapon good, but good enough for casual solo play!

  • Solomon_Kano

I really don’t do games that require subscriptions, but I wanna play this so bad and this CE isn’t helping! Dammit!

  • CirnoLakes

Oh wow, that’s a beautiful case.

Too bad I’ll be broke in August due to Tales of Xillia.

  • Nyandroid

I really want to play this!
Subscription fees. You are in the way of my male Miqo’te. =TwT=~

  • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 水木

I wonder why the PS3 version if $10 more

    • Brion Valkerion

Because its PS3. Console games are always $10 more for what ever reason. Unless they are made by EA or Activision then they are $60 all around.

  • Lazulis

Ahhh…I’m only interested in the artbook…I don’t have the time to make a subscription fee game worthwhile for me. F2P or like how Secret World & D3 are….If the artbook was separate…

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

That’s one sexy CE. Definetely getting it.

  • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 水木

I’m still on the fence about this but I’ll be in phase 3 of the beta thanks to my previous account so I’ll be able to make up my mind hopefully

  • Draparde

Sweet, already preordered the ps3 version ages ago. so i’m set!

  • Kalis Konig

When I bought the FF 13-2 collectors edition it came with two disk 3′s of the soundtrack so I was missing Disk 4…didn’t even notice until a week later lol. Don’t screw me raw again square or so help me Cosmos!!!

  • http://Tree.com/ Busterblader

Square you’ve finally done something that makes me want to throw my money at you again

  • Göran Isacson

Welp, time to see how the reviews turn out this time around. Sink or swim, SE, sink or swim.

    • Eilanzer

I have the 1.0 CE…and after that first flop…I will wait for the reviews…play all the betas and think rly hard if the game deserve my money this time =/

  • badmoogle

Amazing package. But i’m trying to save for a new tv (and a second PS3) so i’m afraid it will be the regular version for me. :(

  • The Watcher

    Pso2

  • Pokahontas McGuigan

i played the beta. the combat was pretty boring :-

  • sylontack

As I rule I don’t touch subscription titles (not to mention Online Only titles), but this certainly does look nice…

  • http://steamcommunity.com/id/noumi_kud Kudryavka

Odd, the European equivalent is found here: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/en/product/#ceSpecialAnchor

    But when I try to pre-order it, their store shows PC Download versions only. Anyone else get the same problem and / or know if we’ll actually get the physical copies? ;~;

  • Oni123

If anyone from UK wants to know Shopto.net has this up for preorder

  • AJ

Will there be a free month trial if you buy it?

I bought FFXI and got a free month. It would be cool if XIV did the same thing.

I don’t mind paying a monthly fee for a game if I like it, but I do hate paying to find out if I like it or not.

    • Ferrick

according to the description, yes you get one month free for first time buyers

  • artemisthemp

I looking forward to this Collector’s Edition arrive

  • http://www.dealzon.com/ Dealzon

Actually, I think if you have the original FF14 (ew), then you won’t have to throw any money at the screen since A Realm Reborn on the PC will be free for you.

  • OathkeeperSoraXIII

yup, if you check the links at the bottom of the article. Square specify that if you already owned version 1 then you can download ARR free on the official site I think :)
