Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP Video Puts The Spotlight On Noire

By Spencer . May 23, 2013 . 2:17am

Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP is part visual novel and part concert manager. Instead of pushing buttons to the beat, players control the performance when characters like Noire sing. You pick the stage, costume, song, and can block the scene. Players can move the camera to zoom in for a close up or pan the entire stage. Picking the right effects that go along with the song increases the stage points you earn. You can also have the CPUs transform into goddess form if they reach their peak during their performance.

Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP is slated for release on June 20 for PlayStation Vita.

YAATAAAAAAAAA! Its here ! My favorite goddess!

    Noire! <3 Noire! <3 Noire! <3

Please take my money! Here take them!

You know what? I am going to import this from Japan. And if it be localised later I am going to buy that too.

    • Thank you based Imai Asami <3

Did I just hear someone say Famitsu DX Pack? :3

      • Tyler Beale

Asami Imai? What the hell is Tsubaki’s voice (from BlazBlue) doing in here?

        • coax

          Don’t you mean Chihaya?

          • H-Hey, no love for Kurisutiiiiiiiiiiina and Ayumi?

          • coax

Yeah, I’m kinda sad that her Steins;Gate radio show ended last week.

        • Keima88

Japanese voice actors do alot of roles. Asami Imai has done alot of other games too. (Like Chihaya in [email protected])

          • Siegel Clyne

Yep. In addition to Noire/Black Heart voice actress Asami Imai speaking and singing as Chihaya Kisaragi in The [email protected] game and anime series, Magiquone (Arfoire) voice actress Chiaki Takahashi (Litchi in BlazBlue) speaks and sings as Azusa Miura in The [email protected] series too, and Pururut (Plutia)/Iris Heart voice actress Kana Hanazawa speaks and sings as Eri Mizutani (a DLC character) in The [email protected] 2.

    • coax

Yes, seriously thinking about getting a vita after seeing (or should I say hearing) this.

    • Tyler Beale

Can you actually do that? You know, with the account and game region mismatch and all?

      • Keima88

? The PS vita is regionfree. One of the big plus points of the vita.

      • GibbRS

I believe you can play a Japanese game via its card/cart on the Vita without problems (someone correct me if I’m wrong), but it’s a pretty big chore to play a Japanese game from PSN on a Vita, since you have to switch accounts which requires restoring the system.

        • Digoth

yeah it’s a pain if you want to download from JP psn. the carts work great though. I have a bunch of imports that all work great.

  • Randy Marsh

“A” probably goes next week and “G” goes the following. And I really want to see the video with the Gs. You get what I mean?

    • Keima88

Speaking about ”G” wonder how she feels about the Xbox one…

*gets stabbed by a drill spear*

“S-Say that foul name once more, I dare you! I will flip out and… and use foul language, I promise!”

      *Green Heart left the site*

Me: Foul language?! Forget about that! You stabbed the wrong person!

      • Raharu95

Now that I think about it. If the developers are thinking the same thing as the hardcore gamers, if the Xbox one got it’s own Goddess, she would probably be in part with Arfoire. Not that she promotes piracy, but that she is so afraid of it that she Rules Leanbox with an Iron Fist, or Titanium spear.

  • Zeidge

Now, normally I would wait till NISA says something, but I’m just going to throw my money at them and import.

And I also have many doubts about this being localised due to the idol premise, seiyuu/singers and the dub not being able to do this.

Look at [email protected], I don’t see any localised versions of that (not including that IOS one)

    • Ethan Lewis

They may just keep the japanese voices for the music which I would be fine with. Importing stuff is too much money….

    • Siegel Clyne

Yes, indeed. Rie Tanaka (Neptune/Purple Heart), Asami Imai (Noire/Black Heart), Yui Horie (Nepgear/Purple Sister), Eri Kitamura (Uni/Black Sister), Kaori Ishihara & Yui Ogura (Ram & Rom/White Sisters), Chiaki Takahashi (Magiquone {Arfoire}), et al., are seiyuu singers, while Neptunia theme vocalist nao (5pb) is a singer by profession.

  • I’ll wait some time and if it doesn’t get a localization I’ll import.

  • GotY

  • kaizin

nice now show me blanc my favorite cpu then i shall buy this post haste >.<

  • Chiupon

So it’s not even a watered down version of [email protected]

  • I will direct goddess concerts like a boss. Please localize :3

  • Aristides

    Localization!!!!!! :P

  • JohnNiles

Guuuuurk, she’s masking her voice. This is the equivalent of an actor putting on 50 lbs to play a role.

  • I will leave my reaction here.

  • TheExile285

You guys think this will be import worthy?

  • HerosLight

Cool song Noire, but you aren’t my favorite goddess.

I see Uni has a new portrait starting from 0:19.

  • Flandre Scarlet

Some of those dance animations just look…bad.

    • finalfantasysonic

The games are created with a cheap budget behind them what did you expect.

      • Demeanor

And that didn’t stop me from putting 170+ hours in it, that’s the genius of it all.

    • TheExile285

The dance animations? They seem fine to me.

Then again, I was only looking at the chest area…

      • The jiggling boobs are a bit too much imo. Can’t concentrate on the rest…

  • Siegel Clyne

Neptune/Purple Heart voice actress Rie Tanaka probably has the most range and versatility of all Neptunia voice actors. Rie Tanaka’s game credits include Mitsuru Kirij┼Ź in Persona 3 and Persona 4 Arena; Morrigan Aensland in Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Project X Zone; Female Miqo’te Type 2 in Final Fantasy XIV; Kan-E-Senna AND Garuda in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn; Emina Hanaharu in Final Fantasy Type-0; Sakuya Haibara in Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse; Mariabell Crois in The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki; Ciel in Rockman Zero (Mega Man Zero); etc. Her anime credits include Lacus Clyne in Gundam SEED; Chii in Chobits; Suigintou in Rozen Maiden; Tomoe Marguerite in My-Otome; Lianq Qi in Canaan; Maria in Hayate the combat butler; Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke in Strike Witches; Maho Nishizumi in GIRLS und PANZER; Hikari Kujou/Shiny Luminous in Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart; Sophia in the Doraemon: Nobita no Ningyo Daikaisen movie; etc. Her Japanese dubbing credits include Princess Bubblegum in Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time; Cassie in PBS KIDS’s Dragon Tales; professional thief Alexandra “Alex” Hunter (Gloria Votsis) in USA Network’s live action TV comedy drama series White Collar; Dr. Katherine “Kat” Manx/Kat Ranger (Michelle Langstone) in, yes, the Japanese dub of Power Rangers S.P.D.; AC-130 FCO (Fire Control Officer) in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3; etc. Rie Tanaka voices Virgo Zodiarts in the Kamen Rider Fourze TV series and Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Fourze and OOO Movie Taisen Mega Max.

  • Demeanor

Love Noire! So is this the Lonely Heart Noire from Pururun’s world? These girls can transition so seamlessly from ass-kicking mech magical girls to idols! ^ ^ I wonder if the game includes the processor sets as alternate costumes for the HDD form, Noire’s are simply awesome (you know, the white one and the orbital one).

I want to see Pishe-chaaaaan her voice is priceless!!! “Neptenu! P ganbattayo! Homete homete!!!” XD “Piii-KIIIIIICK!!!” XD

Oh and one more thing: how in the world do you promote BLANC as an idol??? XD quiet in her best moments, smart, flat, and extremely pissed in her worst moments XD

  • Skye-Izumi

Localisation, defiantly. Nis America doesn’t need to dub the voices, like they don’t dub the intros. A simple translation of text and subtitling of songs would do just fine.

  • Bio_liquid

At first I was thinking “This might be really interesting if I can choose any CPU/Candidtate” But then I saw the animation of the dancing.

Chances are that I will pass on this

    • WhyWai

I dunno, but the animation Looks smooth and actually quite good for me.

      • Bio_liquid

definitely not to me. It looks stiff.
