Toriko: Gourmetga Battle Is Kind Of Like Jump Ultimate Stars With Giant Monsters

Namco Bandai’s Toriko fighting game looks like it’s made for fans of Powerstone or Jump Ultimate Stars. Toriko: Gourmetga Battle is a frantic four player fighting with more than other characters to worry about. The game also puts beasts on the stage to battle with. Defeat these monsters and you turn them into meat, which charges your super meter. Some of the monsters like Quinn and the Regal Mammoth are huge monsters are part of the background.

Toriko: Gourmetga Battle comes out on July 4 for Nintendo 3DS.

How much i want this game :(

I hope that Namco Bandai make a proper Toriko game after this. Toriko deserves better than a few cash-in games. This looks better than the previous games but still not up to the level of what I’d consider a proper Toriko game. Hopefully after the anime reach to the current arc in the manga, we can see a full fledged Toriko game (preferably made by CC2). Oh and HxH too.

I hope that happens too. This game is too simple, but i still really want it :(
toriko’s becoming more popular, but at a slower pace, and to make a good ps3 game for it is gonna be (to developers) a risk. so i doubt they’ll ever make one anytime soon :( shame.

I like reading Toriko too, but it’s too bad that the anime version is increasingly tweaked to become more appealing to the Japanese children. I really doubt the anime will show more of the gory scenes such as…you know…the end of Bubble Fruit arc and the current arc..

While I am a big fan of Powerstone style games, and the addition of giant monsters seem like a really fun addition… mixing up food while in battle, and the constant stops when someone gets that eating cutscene look like they’d drag the games pace down real hard.
