Looks like a relatively slow week. I’ll be surprised if Fuse even appears in the top 10 chart for next week. The game had no marketing at all. It seems that some developers just have no luck after switching publishers.

    Dodonpachi, come to me!

    • Giru HD

Nyaruko-san and Yahari Ore no Seishun (yadda yadda…)…5pb seems to be doing a lot of anime spin-offs lately. I thought they were known for their original stories.

    Still…it’s Nyaruko-san…kind of tempting…

  • Both DDP and Shooting Love are on my way :)

  • Pope The Rev XXVIII

    Both imports are region free

I still dont understand how all these games ends up on the 360 exclusively when its a dead system in Japan. Cave should really just stop whatever agreement they had with Microsoft, because they cant be profitting with this. I would LOVE to play these games too, no thanks to the 360’s region lock on most games.

The new DDP game is region free. Cave has released several of their games region free now when it became obvious select titles were not going to be picked up by foreign publishers. They only chose to region lock games when Cave thought they could get a publisher(and in some cases they have, like with Deathsmiles).

Microsoft and Cave don’t have any agreements, but Cave chooses to release games on the 360 since it’s easier and cheaper for them to. Looking at sales they concluded a while ago that most of their hardcore fanbase purchased 360s and are playing their games. They have no reason to think hardcore 2d shooters appeal to many outside of an entirely small niche. They think spending the money to release their games on other consoles wouldn’t be worth the cost.
