By Spencer . June 4, 2013 . 11:41pm

mzl.cbgfyhjt.320x480-75Square Enix updated Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for iOS with redrawn unit graphics. All of the units are now in high-resolution and they sped up the draw speeds which caused crashing issues before. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for iOS also supports iCloud saves so you can have the same game data on multiple devices.

The best part is the game is half off. Starting today and until June 12, you can get Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions for $7.99.

  • If I didn’t have this on my Vita already, I’d say that’s not a terrible price for the upgraded graphics. However, I’ll have to pass.

Now if only Dimensions could get a good sale price…

    • Mithfalath

Dimensions did have a 50% off on the anniversary I think – and I can’t believe I missed that! I’ll have to wait for another one I guess. Plus – I’m an Android user so I guess I’ll be waiting for this one to get released to Android as well (if ever).

      • Oh nooooo, I hope it’s soon! I’ve been wanting to get the full game on iOS next time it goes on sale.

    • $20 is totally worth it, ya cheapskate!

  • Demeanor

Now these are some smart moves on their part, it’s really tempting.

  • Draparde

High res sprites was what i was hope for in the oriigonal remake X_x if i had a smart phone i would really actually think about grabbing this.

  • Trotmeister

It does indeed look nicer now, but why couldn’t they do they same with text? It still looks horribly pixelated and out of focus. Are we gonna have to wait another year for that?

  • Bakuryukun

Does anyone know i the iOS version has the same slowdown issue the PSP version has when doing attacks?

    • Haseyo

I sure hope not. Using summoners stretched a battle from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.

  • Alestaos

    And wheres android users version?

  • Does “unit graphics” refer to the character sprites, the portraits, or both…? I could’ve sworn I saw a post about them working on updating the portraits (at least for the iPad), but I honestly can’t tell if those have changed. The game itself does look shinier and smoother though, would love to see a before-and-after to see exactly what they did.

  • Virevolte

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat game.
Just finished it, ‘six month ago. (Yeah, I was late, but too soon for this version.)

  • Great, but does it still have hi-res slowdown?

  • Raltrios

The PSP version had a fix for horrendous animation lag, right? I need to find that get my PSP fixed so I can use it. That lag just makes the game unplayable in my opinion.

    • Yeah, I applied the patch and I haven’t looked back. Awesome fix.

      • Raltrios

Do you have a link to it? I really need to remember to grab it, but right now my PSP is temperamental because it got dropped in a puddle. Might need to get a replacement, which sucks ’cause I also need a PS3 for Xillia.

But for future reference, where might I find the fix?

        • M’iau M’iaut

Google. Links to unofficial mods for cracked systems are something we ask be left off the site.

          • Raltrios

            Sorry about that.

I got the link in my email, though, so thanks Eric!

  • My Little endy

    Did they give them noses?

Better not have given them noses.

  • Sydney Losstarot

only one problem with this……. I don’t own an iOS device! And I probably never will own an iOS device.
