This Week In Imports: Square Enix Rolls Out Their Car RPG

By Spencer . June 12, 2013 . 2:20pm

Square Enix’s mixed media series Gyrozetter will come to consoles with Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross. This Nintendo 3DS game takes the anime/manga/arcade game series and turns it into a role playing game with a little bit of driving. Level-5 has been quite successful with launching similar franchises like Inazuma Eleven and The Little Battlers eXperience. Will Gyrozetter be a similar hit?

Also out this week is a double pack of Xbox 360 shooters from Qute Corporation. Ginga Force & Escahatos Wonder Pack are region free games too.

My brother is hyped for the Last of Us. I can’t handle horror/survival-ish stuff but I’m gonna watch him play. I love the color scheme in the Last of Us.

Me neither, im way to into my games. I’d probably wet myself or something.
Ex: In Dragon’s Dogma when i fall to my death i intend to yell until the fall. xD

I hope Gyrozetter does well, and I can’t wait to see the numbers~.

    • I want to be excited for this. But I dont want to be dissapointed at the lack of localization.

Makes me wonder what the market is for kid friendly anime overseas atm. I have a feeling it will do well enough due to the arcade and tv show relation, maybe enough that it gets a nod for international exposure.

      • I hope that’s a BIG NOD because knowing Square-Enix it would take an army of JRPG fans, and Nintendo’s intervention/support, to demand for their non-FF titles.

      • puchinri

Generally, it’s also pretty good here (in the U.S. and usually Latin America, plus Canada), but it can be hard to say. It also depends on the company that gets a hold of things and how they treat it.

  • It’s unfortunate that Gyrozetter will probably not get localized to western territories. I wish we got some/more Giant Robot RPGs on this side of the planet. Oh well, I guess a little bit of wishful hoping/thinking couldn’t do much harm…

    • Sardorim

Especially with dat Region Lock… =( I want Super Robot Wars and this on the go!

At least the Vita and PS4 aren’t region locked….

      • Well, if you’re interested in Super Robot Wars. Operation Hotblood is fighting for the localization of Super Robot Wars OG games (that’s possible because they lack the content of anime franchises such as Gundam, Gurren Lagann, et cetera) and they can need all the help they can. Can we count on you, fellow Super Robot Wars fan? ;)

        • Sardorim

I would be fine if they just released a Digital Version overseas with English Text and had it promoted on the Playstation Network to reduce costs by a ton as they test the waters again.

          • Well, Operation Hotblood supports that idea as well. It also seems as one of the more reasonable ways Namco Bandai should handle the localization. We’re just to convince them that OGs2 is worth giving a shot. So what ya say? Join us and let your voice be heard?

      Oh so it’s giant robots?

      Oh… Hrm… it’d be nice to get it…

      • Well, they’re pretty much Transformers that you control/pilot from the inside… so yeah, giant robots.

  • Testsubject909

Car RPGs? I missed an episode somewhere between today and a few weeks prior to E3 didn’t I?

When the hell.. what game is it, what the…
