Painter Turned Himself Into A Living Canvas, Now A Soul Sacrifice Monster

By Spencer . June 19, 2013 . 1:41am

It’s time for the monthly monster update for Soul Sacrifice. Japan is getting two more creatures to fight like Incubus. Originally, Incubus was a brilliant painter who had quite a following because of his Obscene Dream painting that brought him a fortune. However, people eventually got tired of his works and desperate to reclaim his fame he desired to paint the Obscene Dream in greater detail… and that turned him into a living canvas.

The Leprechaun in Soul Sacrifice doesn’t have a pot of gold, it’s a ghastly shoe monster with a sullen backstory. Some time ago there was a famous shoemaker who had triplets. All three triplets wanted to be their father’s successor and decided the best way to do it was to shine by making amazing shoes. The triplets believed that intelligent animals had smooth and beautiful material they could use… and the most intelligent animal out there is man. So, each of the brothers sacrificed themselves to make a shoe that would impress their father.

MarvelousAQL and Sony Computer Entertainment will continue to make new monsters for Soul Sacrifice so look forward to more sob stories next month.

  • Kalis Konig

I love how this months monster designs are rather colorful and “ridiculous.” Small things like giving every single enemy a back story is a major draw in buying games these days. Like I stated before. I will definitely pick this up once I get a round to buying a vita.

  • tubers

Looks like a big slice of bread.

    • Virevolte

      You’ll learn to fear jam.

    • Namuro

I was thinking of a Pop Tart.

      • TheExile285

****! you ruined PTs for me now!! I just bought a box pf Hot Fudge Sundae flavor >_<

        • revenent hell

If it helps the smore ones taste really….not good

          • TheExile285

I think they taste pretty good as long as they are toasted

          • revenent hell

I don’t really ever heat them up =] Hence probably why they don’t taste that great haha

    • Armane

Looks like French toast combined with the Kool-Aid Man.

    • jujubee88

You’re VITA related posting history is amazing. :-)

  • Jah-keem York
    • wings

i hope the last update be a special one

  • Mugen555

    That’s…
A rather unique interpretation on Incubus

    • revenent hell

Well the desire was there ^.^

  • Raze

    So close…
    I wanted succubus…

    • TheExile285

I can’t even fathom what type of design they would create for a succubus….

      • Ferrick

or even the back story…. man wanted to fulfill all his pleasures, so he decided to sacrifice X and he transformed into manccubus… what?

        • TheExile285

LOL, I can actually see them doing that!

        • revenent hell

That would still be a Incubus though……a male is the incubus.
          Succubus= Female version.
Unless it was a man that wanted to be female and be popular amongst men or something

  • TheExile285

“MarvelousAQL and Sony Computer Entertainment will continue to make new monsters for Soul Sacrifice so look forward to more sob stories next month.”

    ^_^

  • TheExile285

This game needs more Dragons. I demand a Hobbit crossover so I can fight Smuag!

  • Göran Isacson

Incubus… has a moustache. That is amazing. Also shouldn’t it be “Paint-u-bus~”?! Eh?! Eh? Eeeeokay.

And then there was a Shoe Monster. Like, what do you even say about that? Shoe monster man. Shoe monster.

  • Brutal2D

Your monthly reminder in case you forgot what metal would look like if it wasn’t just a music genre.

  • Cameron Ward

Is it just me or is the Leprechaun look extremely similar to the dwarf enemy…its three small bodies.

    • TheExile285

yes, its a redesign. dwarf was completely new though and its free so its not that bad.

      • Cameron Ward

I know, but we should be at that time where enemies shouldn’t have similar designs

        • revenent hell

Aww I wish I had have read this before I posted :(

I agree with you on this matter though. Don’t get me wrong I get a lot of games do this but I feel, for this case, if you are going to go threw the effort of making a totally cool story for the monster make it original; Like the story it was given.

  • Raharu95

    What the heck?

  • artemisthemp

I wonder, when Sony will announce next DLC for EU and US

  • Ereek

Aww, the bread/canvas thing has a mustache.

    • Virevolte

Yeah, the most significant part of his personality has been transferred to the monster.

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

These two look kind of silly lol

  • revenent hell

The Leprechaun reminds me of what was it the (not troll) dwarf apparently?
Same concept really just a slightly different appearance and story.

Edit : It would have been so awesome if they went the morbid rout for the canvas as in its bones could have been the framework and they just pulled his skin on to it you know?

  • Vitonofrio del Rosso

    another free dlc? or?

  • Damarius Wingfield

    Those are sick shoe makers!
