cordaTecmo Koei has a long running otome series centering around classical music. La Corda d’Oro 3 is about a violinist named Kanade who transfers to a new school to push herself by playing with master musicians. Kanade runs into Ritsu who is from her hometown, but left for Seisou Academy a few years earlier.

La Corda d’Oro 3 was released back in 2010 and a new version of the game, La Corda d’Oro 3 Full Voice Special, is scheduled to come out on September 19. La Corda d’Oro 3 Full Voice Special has full voice acting, which is a feature fans have been waiting for. The team also listened to requests to have events for certain sub characters and added those to Full Voice Special. Altogether, there are 17 new story episodes and that includes a sweet episode with each datable character and 28 new event stills.

  • I guess there are some still confident in the PSP.

Well, in Japan the PSP is in its declining phase (obviously), but new games keep coming, expecially visual novels. They sell in the low ten thousands range, which is probably OK with the budget of this kind of games.

    • UMDs are cheaper to manufacture than cartridges, so they’re a useful format for lower-selling games like these.

That’s some pretty nice treatment. Also interesting to see it (still) on PSP.
Kinda curious about how it’ll do.

    • Well, seeing how devs still spit out at least 2 otome games per month for the PSP, I’d say that stuff does well enough in general and there’s no need to worry about this not going well.

I just wish they’d release fully voiced versions right from the start…

  • Mods everywhere. Lol but uh that’s cool that a VN is gesturing full voice.

    Oooh~ this is good news!
