Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode Reveals New Demons And Angels

By Laura . June 26, 2013 . 12:50pm

With Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode’s release on the horizon (literally) in Japan on June 27, information about many new characters has been released by Namco Bandai, focusing mostly on the “Scheme of the Demon Lords” arc.

Due to Barbamon’s conquering of the Digitower, many Digimon who do not think well of this situation have also appeared.  One of these is Ophanimon, a female angel Digimon. Along with Seraphimon and Cherubimon, the three are called the Three Holy Angels who guard the Kernel (interpreted as the Domain of God). Ophanimon is a Holy Mother-like figure representing God’s infinite love and benevolence.

In contrast, two other Demon Lords are also shown to appear.  The first of these is Belphemon: Sleep Mode. Despite his cute appearance, he is the Demon Lord of Sloth. In this mode, he is sleeping in the Dark Area because of a lockdown put on his enormous power by the Digital World System.

The second Demon Lord is the enormous Leviamon, the Demon Lord of Envy.  It looks like a red alligator with jaws said to be able to swallow the entire Digital World.  Usually sleeping at the bottom of the Net Ocean near the Dark Area, when he wakes up he can stare down any Digimon, be they demon or angel.

In addition to these Digimon, there’s also a new human character that you probably recognize. Or rather, she’s already appeared before, but this time she is physically in the Digital World for some reason. After having lost in the Coliseum to the protagonist, she persistently trails after him, challenging him to a rematch.  This exasperates Sebastian and he asks them to stop her rampage.

More information has also been revealed about the Bodyguard system.  The bar where you can hire these Digimon mercenaries is located in Night Canyon. After hiring a bodyguard, the Digimon will wait at a place you set until you go and talk to him. You can set the amount of time you want to hire the Digimon for—12, 24, or 36 hours—and the price you pay changes accordingly.

Whenever you change maps, you’ll get to choose whether to stop the service prematurely. When your Digimon partner dies, when you lose a battle, and when you use the Autopilot item to return to town, the bodyguard will leave your party.

Finally, it has been revealed you can obtain items through QR codes.  In Jijimon’s house, after a certain point, you can activate the option to use the 3DS camera to read these codes. These codes will be released on the official site after the game releases. One example is a “basic starter pack for beginning adventurers”.

Another code can be found in the guidebook that will be sold on the same day as the game release, according to the Shueisha products site.  This guidebook covers the entire story—new and old—subquests, Coliseum battles, how to raise every Digimon, and also features interviews with the character designer, Suzuhito Yasuda, and the artist of the currently serializing manga, Kouhei Fujino.

The book also includes a poster containing X-Antibody Digimon and the Demon Lords and a QR code that gives 20 copies of an exclusive item that multiplies the effect of your training by 1.5.

An English release is looking less and less likely. I was sure that putting it on the 3DS, along with reviving the anime and registering a US trademark was building up to it but now…

    • Just Tim

Man, in parallel to this, Capcom BLEW its chance to hype up Sengoku Basara 3′s US release, especially when the anime of the 1st game was released in the same year 3 did in the US.

With that said, given how combined Naruto/DBZ profits are more than enough to fund at least 4 niche projects (SRW, Digimon, Tales, and Summon Night come to mind) AND not to mention Digimon’s 15th anniversary AND Toei Animation’s history with Namdai, pre-merger, this makes perfect business sense.

    • ElAbuelo69

      also no Dragon Quest VII

      waaaahhh ;_;

    • Tylor Boreas Makimoto

Why is this looking less and less likely? It hasn’t even come out in Japan yet, so we don’t have those sales numbers to guess with. Have faith, man.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      why “less likely”?
is there any factor that made less chance of it being localized? I didn’t see any since months ago

      • Steven Higgins

It’s just that, we haven’t even heard if they’re considering it. I mean don’t companies usually tell you something “Depending on sales we may consider localizing this title for other regions” or “We are interested in an international release” even before the game drops? But we haven’t heard anything .

        • Romored

Hmm, no. It’s actually rather unusual for companies to say whether they’ll consider a localization or not, especially for niche games. It happens very rarely.

        • Renaldi Saputra

but those are usually happened on many games too, aren’t they?
and some of them eventually ended up being localized

  • Ivan Junior

I’m still waiting for the confirmation of Magnadramon.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      seems there’s no Holydramon

  • Yuriangels

i don’t care if he a Demon Lord or not. Belphemon: Sleep Mode is soooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • http://shadious.tumblr.com/ Vince

Evil has never been so cute with Belphemon SM.

      • Renaldi Saputra

        despite the size

  • Chiupon

i feel like if Lili lost enough she’d just show up at the protagonists house, burst through his wall with her limo, and kick the shit out of him.

    • riceisnice

Caitlin did that to me once. It’s just… Farming her and the other elite 4 is good money…

  • http://www.youtube.com/Lyonharvestmoonfan Eduardo Rocha

    I hope this gets localized.

  • http://shadious.tumblr.com/ Vince
    • Renaldi Saputra

whut? the cover is a group of the second protaginists? well, it should be Ruki instead of Jen

      • http://shadious.tumblr.com/ Vince

Yup, it seems. Also the covers’ for that incoming Aug 1 album of AiM’s.

        • Renaldi Saputra

yep, I’ve visited bokutachinodigitalworld just now..
since Xros Wars has no ED theme, there’s no Kiriha :p

          • http://shadious.tumblr.com/ Vince

Also AiM never worked on any Xros Wars songs. Probably one of the reasons we don’t see Kiriha, Yuu or Ryouma in the cover.

  • Keima88

    Mumu…

I want this so badly that I had a dream last night that I could read Japanese… >.<

  • Renaldi Saputra

for demon lords there have been 6 showing their appearances..
now only Demon is left.. will all 7 demon lords show up or just those 6?

    • Christopher Nunes

Who’s the last of the Demon Lords that’s missing?

      • Steven Higgins

Demon. Also called Daemon and Creepymon in dub materials

        • Christopher Nunes

Oh! Him… I didn’t realize he was one of the Demon Lords.

Do you prefer Daemon or Creepymon? I like Daemon better.

          • http://shadious.tumblr.com/ Vince

Ditto. The word Daemon also refers to his biblical counterpart as well as CPU program that runs as background process.

          • Renaldi Saputra

Did u mean the Demon with cloak and without cloak one?

          • Steven Higgins

Without. Even thought they’re the same species the Demon Lord is normally uncloaked and the cloaked one is usually obtainable as a partner.

          • Renaldi Saputra

I heard hissatsu waza are different too, aren’t they?

          • Steven Higgins

Sorry, I don’t know what that is.

          • Renaldi Saputra

hisatsu waza = special technique/special attack

          • Steven Higgins

Ah. No, I think they’re the same.

          • Steven Higgins

I prefer Daemon. It’s closer to the original Japanese name and Creepymon just sounds stupid when you say it out loud. Daemon is more intimidating which is fitting for a Demon Lord.

  • Christopher Nunes

I can’t wait! I hope this get localized and if not I will import a Japanese 3DS and this game if I have to!

    By the way:

Here’s a chart of what Digimon are obtainable so far, I don’t know if this is the final list or not but I think there’s still more to get but it is looking good so far!

    • Renaldi Saputra

so, now they have all 8 main characters in digimon adventure RPG including their last evolution and complete 4 dark masters..

sadly there’s no terriermon and its giant robo mecha..
      ahh, moumantai

by the look, I assume this is made by a Chinese/Hong Kong person

      • Christopher Nunes

The list is incomplete though… it’s missing Agumon X, Greymon X, and MetalGreymon X as well as BlackAgumon and BlackWarGreymon on the list.

We had around 80 Digimon (74 Digimon to be precise) that we could obtain in the PSP version and we got about 76 new Digimon for the 3DS Decode version on this list…. there’s still more! We got about 160 or more Digimon to raise this time around.

        • Renaldi Saputra

you’re right.. hopefully Demon will show its appearance too..
demon lords isn’t a complete chaos without it

  • deadMastershiro

Please come over here i don’t have the money to import.

  • Jesse Torres

    I want this game.

  • Vash bane

wait…we can have a party now?
    that’s just prime

    • Renaldi Saputra

      paid party

  • Donatetimo

where is the reveals of NA release date.

  • Guest

This need sot be localized. The last Digimon game I enjoyed was Dawn/Dusk, Championship was pretty good too, but I need more digimon!

  • Just Tim

Looks like your comment is directly aimed at me, to which I shall gladly answer.

Namdai’s two biggest licenses are Naruto and DBZ. Prior to the Namco-Bandai merger last decade, then-Bandai already has pre-existing video game and toy rights for Dragonball, which they signed back in the 1980s.

Meanwhile, Naruto license started from the PS3/PSP game rights since the PS360 gen.

Given Naruto and Dragonball’s combined popularity, those two alone can fund AND SRW, Tales, Summon Night, and Digimon.

  • Solomon_Kano

You know you’re responding to a bot, right?

Meanwhile, Naruto license started from the PS3/PSP game rights since the PS360 gen.

As a small note, Namdai had the Naruto license prior to this gen. Bandai published the Ultimate Ninja games on PS2, then they continued post-merger which took us up into this gen.
