Puzzle & Dragons Z’s Adds In Cut-In Animations, Sparkly Drops

Puzzle & Dragons Z is not a port of the massively successful smartphone game. GungHo Online Entertainment designed the Nintendo 3DS game to be feel more like a role playing game. You play as a dragon tamer and use Monster Chips to evolve monsters. Battles use the same drop matching system where grouping three or more drops of the same color activates monsters with the same attribute. So, connecting three fire drops makes fire elemental monsters attack.

New for Puzzle & Dragons Z is the "Z Drop" which you can trigger by connecting a sparkly drop during a combo. This increases the damage of the entire combo. Just like Puzzle & Dragons, dragons have skills and in Z the game presents special skills with cut-in animations. There is a skill option on the touch screen which you can use when a "S" is on top of one of your dragons.

Puzzle & Dragons Z will be released in Japan later this year.

Game is fairly fun and addicting, would totally get the 3DS version of it, as long as its not too over priced, if there is nothing more than the mobile version that is.

Chances are it will be in about the $35 range, at least in the US like most 3DS games are. It would certainly be cheaper than having that tempting option to get more Magic Stones to keep playing the mobile version if you are impatient to wait for freebies anyway. :P

love the mobile version but they just upgraded to ios 5.2 and iphone os upgrades are unstable to say the least… so it WAS a great game lol

The fact that this plays more like standard rpg with puzzle twist plus we are Dragon Tamer makes me really interested with this game here.

And also being Dragon Tamer makes me remember one manga where it is all about Dragon Tamer too.^_^
