Slap Other Fighters With A Giant Robot Hand In Phantom Breaker: Extra

By Spencer . June 26, 2013 . 3:32pm

Phantom Breaker: Extra is an "super" version of Mages’ fighting game with rebalanced gameplay, a new Extra fighting style, and a handful of new characters – pun intended. Ende, who is from the Schrödinger Space-Time patrol group brings a giant robot named Nataku into battle. A mech vs. human fight wouldn’t be fair, so Nataku shows up as a giant metal hand.

Famitsu also revealed three more characters in Phantom Breaker: Extra. You can play as:

Sophia, a Fu-mantion Artifact made by the Russian Science Academy that despises Phantom (the mysterious man who promises to grant the winner a wish).

Shizuka, a former senior official that worked for Phantom who wants to bring Japan back to its militarism dogma.

Gaito & Rin are a team, but Rin, a 6 year old girl, controls Gaito, an anti-soul that is brimming with power.

Phantom Breaker: Extra is slated for release on September 19 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I guess I should be glad the English release for the original is in release hell, so I can just pick this up instead.

    • Mister_Nep

I hear the English version likes to spend its evening drinking itself to sleep with Starcraft Ghost.

That’s pretty wicked! Shes even in Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds! Quick, someone get WildArms to bring her into the next game too.

    That HAND.
Ende can easily be a final boss in this game.

The HUD is completely different from even the AC release, there’s even more characters than before and then there’s the “Extra” style. Could possibly be good things in store for this release…
