Whoa, a Vanillaware game in stupidly high definition? That’ll probably be the most beautiful thing ever.

    • Testsubject909

And we poor people in the west won’t experience it…

  • Lazulis

    Vanillaware on a 4K tv?

    YES PLEASE.

  • Spirit Macardi

    Imperceptible graphical improvements? Awesome :B

    • Testsubject909

They’re perceptible. But they’re not Significant.

  • VitaminC

    Someone call Jason Schreier.

  • Kelohmello

“Atlus is inviting fans to see the Sorceress’s boobs in ultra high resolution.”

    • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Don’t forget about dat “Amazon-Ass” as well lol =P

      • Testsubject909

        And Dat Dwarf!

        Wait….

No, I meant what I said.

  • Crazy_O

“…see the Sorceress in ultra high resolution.”

I really like Atlus’ approach here. At least one publisher that doesn’t immediantly break down because of some idiot insulting their artists. They know who will buy your games and especially limited editions.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

Triple Ds on Quadruple Ks! Alllllllright, Giggity-giggity!!!

    • Testsubject909

I think your measurements are a bit off here.

She’s far closer to a Japanese J-cup. Just look up Hitomi Tanaka.

      Edit: Or Yulia Nova…

  • Bacon_n_Lettuce

How are they rendering the game to take advantage of that display? Wouldn’t it come out pixelated, kind of like running a PSP game on Vita?

    • Xerain

      Not if it’s native 4k running on a PS4…. which would have… implications….

      • ronin4life

Dragons crown is ps3, and ps4 is confirmed not to support 4K resolution for gaming anyway.

Which is why I am left scratching my head…
        @.@

        • Cazar

My guess is they put together a 4k PC build for the demo.

          • Juan Andrés Valencia

I would even doubt that. Most gaming PC’s can’t run 90% of the games out there at that resolution,

          • Cazar

Except Dragon’s Crown uses 2D sprites, so it shouldn’t be an issue.

          • Juan Andrés Valencia

To be fair… do you remember how well Odin Sphere ran on the PS2? Highly detailed sprites can be fairly demanding as well.

          • LanceHeart

That was mostly because of the DVD player in PS2 consoles being crap. If this demo is running off of a solid state hard drive, they’d need to push 8K with a screen full of sprites and effects before mass storage started becoming the computer bottleneck.

          • Xerain

Sprites require more storage space on the disc, and thus require more loading… but once loaded require less power to move around and do whatever with. Odin’s Spheres issues were loading related. Having played the game form both disc and from HDD on the PS2, I can tell you first hand the game runs flawlessly off the HDD, which has a much higher read speed than the disc drive.

      • Spirit Macardi

The implication would be that the PS4 actually is backwards compatible and I’d therefore have a reason to buy one x3

      • Solomon_Kano

        PS4 doesn’t support 4K for games, just movies/TV.

    • tubers

Yeah.. but probably not that bad.

Maybe their TV’s have better scaling.

August 6th, August 6th. wherefore art thou, August 6th?

  • z_merquise

Glad to see Dragon’s Crown getting a huge support.

    • AnimusVox

      Was that a pun? >>

      • z_merquise

Actually, no. But now that you said it, it sounds like it is.

        • Testsubject909

          I’ll gladly support the sorceress…

  • Solomon_Kano

It makes me happy to see Sony giving a hand in pushing Dragon’s Crown. They even made it a part of their current hunting game promo on Vita, despite it being nothing of the sort (though sharing some key traits).

    • TheExile285

Yeah didn’t they also have PSO2 in that promo? I think are getting a little too crazy with these “hunting labels”. I read an article on IGN where the author called Valhalla Knights 3 a hunting game >_>

btw, your a mod now? congrats

      • Solomon_Kano

Yea, they have PSO2 in as well. I figure they slapped that one in there thanks to the PSP Phantasy Star games, but people are saying Valhalla Knights is a hunting game? lol

        Yep. Thanks!

      • Longsun_Zhao

PSO actually has a lot in common with hunting games.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu of Spades

It’s gonna be so awkward to see a mod actually posting regularly. xD

      • Solomon_Kano

Well, get used to it! I’ve got no plans on slowing down lol.

        • Chris Yuen

          Congrats Kano!

        • Arcana Wiz

Oh did you get a mod status, well congratulations!!!

        • http://superkurisutina.tumblr.com/ Kurisu Makise

Chiming in to congratulate you as well.

          • Solomon_Kano

            @ifniarc:disqus @twitter-111584967:disqus

            Thanks a bunch guys!

      • Testsubject909

Eh, I don’t see anything weird about it… Ishaan often comes down from on high to chat and bash heads so why not a Mod that posts frequently? At least you know he’s involved.

    • awkwardkorean

Sorry. I read that as “…current hunting game porno on vita”

  • TheExile285

They should display it on Vita’s too. Unfortunately I haven’t picked up Muramasa yet but I hear its stunning on Vita.

BTW, do they sell these TVs outside of Japan?

    • z_merquise

I have Muramasa on VIta and yes, it looked smooth and more beautiful in the Vita’s screen.

    • Ferrick

i think they do, because i’ve seen some bravia series tvs in electronic stores here and there, though not sure about the Bravia 4k one

    • PRIVADO

It is just an hd remake without framerate hick ups and better a translation. So yeah get it.

    • Neophoton

Muramasa looks amazing on Vita. Plays more comfortably, too!

  • AnimusVox

    A fine choice Sony.

  • Nitraion

    “Sorceress in ultra high resolution.”

    O yeah :3

  • eilegz

thats a cheat, i remember how good looking it was muramasa demon blade on the wii in a HDTV….

  • Neophoton

Nice to see Sony drumming up some hype for Dragon’s Crown.

    • Testsubject909

I’ve already got my multiple pre-orders down.

I’m just waiting and now I’m tortured with the thought of Sorceress in 4K…

      • Neophoton

I’ve preordered for both PS3 and Vita. Wonder if Amazon doubles up on the artbook if we get it for both platforms?

  • Erwin MadJelly

WOOT HOT SORCERESS IN HIGH DEF!! BOOBIES!!

  • Bloodios

While I’m loving all the attentions that Dragon’s Crown is getting, I’m a bit confused… What’s the point of running the game on a 4K TV when the game itself doesn’t even run at 1080p? Or what, are they running the demo off a high-end PC or something?
