Psst… One Piece: Romance Dawn Sails To 3DS In August

By Spencer . June 30, 2013 . 11:36pm

imageNamco Bandai is bringing One Piece: Romance Dawn – Dawn of Adventure to Nintendo 3DS. This role playing game was released for PSP last year and it goes all the way back to Luffy’s childhood. One Piece: Romance Dawn covers later story arcs too like the Marineford arc.

One Piece: Romance Dawn – Dawn of Adventure is a straight port of the PSP game. The 3DS’ second screen is used to display the map.

One Piece: Romance Dawn = Dawn of Adventure comes out on August 8.

Can we get this one in NA & EU or is Namco gonna give us the finger again?

    • Renaldi Saputra

did the last PSP version got an US release?
I doubt it bcos of Namco Bandai.. but at least One Piece had a better chance than digimon or another Bandai Namco games

      • TheExile285

I was talking about the other 3DSs games as well as the Vita version of Pirate Warriors 2. PW2 I can kind of understand but why the hell did NA get shafted with Unlimited Cruise on 3DS. Only EU got it

But no, PSP RD did not get localized. PSP I can understand. Its not like they thrown anything our way on that system in the past few years.

        • 3PointDecoupage

Europe got unlimited cruise?! Please tell me 3ds isn’t region locked!

          • Renaldi Saputra

            it is

        • SerendipityX

One Piece is not as popular in the NA as it is in the EU (something to do with 4kids, etc). Its the reason why PW and PW2 are digital only.

          • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

            Its doing well on Toonami

      • GHAmer

I think the probability of this game of getting localized in 3DS game is higher than it was on PSP, because PSP is techncally dead in US & EU

        • Renaldi Saputra

          absolutely

  • Ivan Junior

The boxart is terrible. But I do pray that this game comes to Americas.

  • Warboss Aohd

    give us it.

  • Bobby Jennings

The game looks even more colorful than it was on the PSP.

  • 3PointDecoupage

I hate that it’s a direct port. I want some new attacks,(Usopp, Nami, and Chopper’s are terrible), Skypeia level and playable Jinbei! Also, English would be nice.

  • Spirit Macardi

I have a feeling we’re either not going to get it, or if we do it’ll only have the Japanese voices…

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Well it will be better rather than having nothing here.T_T

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

We probably won’t get this game in the US, but I’m happy One Piece is back on tv here at least.

  • Musashi234

Hey Bamco if you can Bring this to the States like you are Kaizoku Mosuo that would be ggrrreeaaaattttt!!!

  • zferolie

Well, it being on the 3DS means it has a better chance of coming outside of japan at least.

  • Gilgamesh2025

    Nice! ♪

  • ragingmerifes

No… not this game. The game was terrible on PSP.

    • British_Otaku

I heard a bit of how the game wasn’t special on the lines of it failing to cover the story well (an issue for Pirate Warriors as well). Was there something else that made it terrible and to what degree?

I was praising the announcement for the 3DS as my PSP systems aren’t functional (and I’m too lazy to get to pirating the thing at the moment, especially if it may be worth my money). >_>

      • ragingmerifes

Well, it surprisingly covered the story well, so it was a decent One Piece game, but a bad RPG overall.
Remember those amateur RPG Maker games where the dungeons were linear, the enemies were not diverse at all and bosses were only hard because they had high status and not because they required strategies? Well, that’s it, basically.
At least there were some sidequests, and cool outfitting, but all in all, the game was generic. I expected more, as an OP fan and as an RPG fan.
