Episodic Super Robot Taisen Game Cuts In With New Trailer

By Spencer . July 2, 2013 . 1:33am

Namco Bandai has been experimenting with different business models. They tried free to play games with Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation and Tekken Revolution. Now, Namco Bandai is dabbling with episodic games with Super Robot Taisen Operation Extend for PSP.

The story will be split into eight chapters and the first one comes out on July 18. All eight packs cost 5,980 yen ($60) or you can buy episodes individually for 1,000 yen ($10) a piece. The first episode will go on sale for 500 yen ($5) at launch. Super Robot Taisen Operation Extend has mecha from Macross Frontier, Keroro, Zoids, and a bunch of Gundam games. Aside from the business model, it looks pretty much like any other Super Robot Taisen game.

All I can say is that the original themes are pretty cool and that the voice recording is horrible, like seriously. I know it can’t be cause of PSP either, since Z2 sounds genuinely awesome! :/

I just can’t get hype for this, it has awesome shows included and everything but it just doesn’t catch your interest like the others do, at least for me. Eventually going to get it anyway, though, just to see for myself~

Meteor Zapper at the end was probably the best animated attack thus far. Dat 2D+3D combination.

Banpresto really doing good job with 3D model this time, I hope the quality of the 3D animation in SHC also good as this.

The transition 3D and 2D during Meteor Zapper attack(last attack in vid) really great, and those 2D cutins also great.

And according to famitsu pageI for those who buy Vita in japan during 18 July to 30 august can download SRW OE for free on PSN.

Wow, I can’t wait to get my hands on this game. It’s been a while since I’ve seen 08th MS Team with new animations as well as War in the Pocket in a SRT game in general. I’m also starting to like the attention being given back to the Gundam Wing (TV) units too. It was a pleasant surprise in Z2.

Wonder if Evangelion makes the cut? Then again, Rebuild was in SRT L so I suppose I can settle with that.

There’s no way around it, this will have to be the first import game that I own!

I’m SO going to have Keroro and Gurren Lagann team up constantly! “Just who the hell do you think we are, de arimasu!”

The only thing I want to know is if I can buy the whole thing outright or if I have to wait for all the episodes to be released. The wait would kill me D:
