MIND≒0’s Latest Trailer Shows Sporty Heroine Sana Chikage In Action

By Sato . July 3, 2013 . 3:40pm

Acquire’s dark stylish dungeon crawler, MIND≒0, will be coming out early next month for the PlayStation Vita, and they’ve started a series of countdown videos which will be revealing different parts of the game for the next five weeks. 4Gamer reports a new MIND user in addition to the first part of the video series about the sporty Sana Chikage.

At the start of the video, Sana is shown describing herself as someone who hates to lose. She also describes the way she interacts with her MIND as something only she can hear, as if it’s some sort of communication between their hearts. We also get a good look at Sana’s MIND in action, along with her use of tonfa as weapons.

Reika Kisaki

Age: 26

Reika is a beauty who behaves in an easy-going manner as a way to hide her sorrowful side, which seems to be one of her biggest secrets. Her MIND has a tough body and a giant axe to go with it, but it also appears to be restrained. It possesses great power, but it is said that most of it is restrained, and it only obeys orders from Reika.

Note: on the MIND≒0 official character profile page, Reika is listed under “Important Person,” meaning she will not likely be a playable character.

MIND≒0 is slated for release on August 1st for PlayStation Vita.

  • I wouldn’t “MIND” having this game localized if you know what I mean.
    (Stares at Aquire pleadingly)

This looks really nice in my opinion. Also, finally a gameplay trailer. Yay! =^_^=

    • TheExile285

Acquire doesn’t actually localize their games they? You should stare at XSEED (localized Dokuro), Gungho and Arkys. Don’t forget the moe puppy dog eyes!

      • Aristides

And Gaijinworks XP They’re currently localizing the Class of Heroes series which is also made by Acquire & Zerodiv. They’ve got a pretty good relationship going on.

  • Göran Isacson

SOund was a bit tinny… also, I do wonder what the reason was for actually creating 3D models for use in combat scenes, but then only showing them some of the time. Save resources? Stylistic choice?

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Its a nice change rather than just seeing 2D portraits and lame-o slash sounds.

      • DyLaN

The attack animation in SMT IV looks good to me.

EDIT: Still, if the 3D model can’t match up to the character design, I rather them use the 2D portrait. Still won’t stop me frm liking it though.

    • AkuLord3

To show off the old school First Person feel, that you’re getting hit…this isn’t the only game that has this look

      • DyLaN

        Example: 7D2020.

      • Göran Isacson

Okay, so one could say it’s an effort to mix “old-school” style with “new-school”? Appeal to both sides of the audience?

  • TheExile285

Sana is my favorite. I also like these 3D models in a first person RPG. Wish the graphics were a bit more crisp but it is an Acquire game lol.

I will definitely buy this of it gets localized. Hopefully it will.

  • LightGenx

I see some Chie in Sana.

  • Smooosh

Whoa, it isn’t even trying to hide where it’s inspired from…
…Looks pretty cool though, gotta say I’d love to see it getting localized.

    • LightGenx

While it does give off a Persona vibe, I think once people play the game they’ll have a different impression of it.

      • Smooosh

Oh, I hope so. I’m actually not a big fan of Persona 3 & 4s gameplay, at least in 4 you only spend about ~1/4 or 1/3 of the time in dungeons. It’s more like a VN / Dating Sim with RPG elements. I can see why some would enjoy that, but it’s not exactly my cup of tea. Seperate, sure, but I’m not so fond of the mix of these genres.
The style on the other hand is pretty cool, so seeing that mixed with a more traditional gameplay might be to my liking.

  • transferstudentx

new persona game new persona game new persona oh .. wait its not

  • Strain42

Okay, putting aside all “This looks like Persona” comments (which hey, that’s the only reason I’m even paying attention to this game) I think my biggest complaint so far from what we’ve seen are…the faces…they expressions always just so weird to me. Especially the main character dude. Not in this one, but in one of the earlier vids one of his faces just looks…derpy. I hate to use that word but it’s the only adjective I can use to describe it.

That aside, I am looking forward to seeing this game localized. It does look like it could be alright.

  • MrRobbyM

I need this game in my life

  • ShadowDivz

Graphics seem on the PSP side if im being honest.
But i honestly love the artwork. I don’t know if i would get the game, but i do know i would get the artbook.

    • Aristides

It seems almost as if the game started out as a Vita title

  • almostautumn

#given up hope for JPN Vita titles being localized

  • Nitraion

    Looks kinda slow…

  • DyLaN

The downvote force is strong….. Just scrap the damn thing ady.

So… Sana is basically Biri Biri with a MIND? No objection. But who will the Touma? Kei or Leo?

Reika = Hotter Hinako = AW YES. Her MIND is basically a Berserker?

I honestly wouldn’t mind a “crop the character art and edit the face” in this game. The sprite art is passable but I prefer the art the artist used in the character illustration.

Still, the ZIZZ studio music sounds nice. Can any1 share some of their OST frm other games?

Also, the last person in the “Important” section is revealed in Jap gaming magazine ady.

    • Mad_Dog_Yayan

I’m seriously tired of all the comparing this to that .Expies of characters exist in games or animes even before this game, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it, easy right

      • DyLaN

o_O? Where did I indicate tht I don’t like the expies? If anything its exactly because of the similar traits tht I like the characters. I’m not bashing the game, sir.

  • artemisthemp

Reika MIND remind me of Pyramid Head for some reason.

  • I hope they localize this.
