Dead Rising 3 Brings Back Isabela Keyes From Dead Rising 1 And Chuck Greene

By Spencer . July 5, 2013 . 11:50am

imageDead Rising 3 will tie up loose ends from the other two Dead Rising games, a source tells Siliconera. This is the same source that provided us with information to reveal details about Dead Rising 3 back in 2011, a year before Microsoft unveiled the game at E3.

Isabela Keyes a survivor from Dead Rising will return in Dead Rising 3. We briefly saw Isabela in Dead Rising 2: Case West where she has been working on a zombie cure inside Phenotrans. Isabela has been trapped inside a lab for years and she is finally freed when a zombie outbreak spreads to Los Perdidos. Isabela escapes and is searching for a missing element to the cure, blood from patient zero.

Chuck Greene from Dead Rising 2 will also make an appearance in Dead Rising 3. But, don’t expect the story to be about Chuck. Nick Ramos, a mechanic, is the main character. Diego is one of Nick’s close friends. The two characters grew up together and later Diego joined the army. However, Diego struggled during his service mainly due to something from Dead Rising 1

That’s great. After playing west I’ve been hoping for 3,but with the change of direction, I was afraid they mite forget about the lore altogether. Hopefully this gets ported to the ps4 after a while. It happened with mass effect, it can happen with this (as ME was also published by Microsoft)

Let’s not start port begging, please. That type of stuff tends to snowball. Thanks.

      3. No console requests: We’re sorry that “Super Awesome Game X” isn’t available for your favourite console, but spamming the comments with “why isn’t this for NeoGeo Pocket” isn’t going to make it happen. DO NOT beg for ports or complain when games are announced for other systems.

Wasn’t my intention, but just bringing up the fact that a once exclusive title published by console company HAS been ported after some time. I’m bummed by it being an exclusive title for a console I have NO intention on purchasing, as I’m a fan of the series since day 1.

        Sorry,wont do it again

        • Solomon_Kano

It’s cool, just wanted to be sure you were aware of the rules.

As for the possibility of this seeing a port, I’d imagine MS will do their damnedest to keep this exclusive. They certainly kept Dead Rising 1, and they didn’t even publish that one.

          • dragoon_slayer12

well, dr1 was “ported” to the wii, so i think its more of a matter of console success. it took a few years for sony to match the 360 in sales, so that could have been a factor as to why it was 360 “next gen” exclusive

          • Solomon_Kano

I guess, though Chop Til You Drop was a complete remake.

I might buy the PS3′s sales being a factor if Lost Planet hadn’t come out exclusively on 360 the same year as DR1 and then got a PS3 port in 2008. If the PS3′s sales kept them from doing DR, they wouldn’t have done LP either. So I’d bet on MS keeping that tied to 360.

Isabella: Where the hell did all the colors go?

    • kamiboy

      Made in the west…

      • Solomon_Kano

Just like Dead Rising 2, which was colorful as hell…

        • kamiboy

Dead Rising 2 was soulless clone of the original down to the smallest of details, even the glaring warts.

But hey, whatever floats the old boat.

          • Solomon_Kano

Your response was to a comment about the game’s lack of color, which you insinuated was owed to it being developed in the west. I refuted that.

How you feel about Dead Rising 2 being a “clone” or whatever is irrelevant to that point.

They probably noticed that heels, a short skirt and a blouse were terrible for killing zombies.

      • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

I always thought the series’ charm was how inappropiate those things were. I mean Frank West jumping from a helicopter to fight zombies while yelling “This is my vacation!” was one of the best things I’ve ever watched. Is there a big change of direction in this sequel?

That’s true, a semi-nude, Katana wielding, vodka drinking guy in his late 30′s somehow convincing people to follow him into a warehouse was definetely innapropiate.

As for DR3, it looks more serious and with worse framerate issues.

  • Skode

Chuck? Didnt half care when Frank had to off him in “off the record” – fair to say would rather have Frank instead any day of the week. Still its nice to see DR3 will have a story which still fits around the rest of the canon from past games. I liked Isabela, she was a compelling character

  • Hours

Chuck is the best DR protag IMO. Way better than Frank. Nick isn’t shaping up too hot either right now.

I hope you can unlock Chuck as a playable character.

The original Isabela looked pretty and half-native. This one looks too caucasian and kinda generic… and the main character this time is a white-washed mexican.

Made by a western team for sure.
