Kingdom Hearts X[chi] Has Agrabah, Dwarf Woodlands, And Wonderland Worlds

By Spencer . July 5, 2013 . 1:39am

While you’re waiting for Kingdom Hearts III you can create a custom keyblade wielding hero in Kingdom Hearts X[chi], a browser based game. Some time ago, the world was at peace covered in radiant light, but people began to fight over the light. This caused darkness to spread inside people’s hearts and soon the world was covered in darkness. That’s where you come in with a keyblade and the power of light to cut through the darkness.

Kingdom Hearts X[chi] has three familiar worlds. In Agrabah you meet Aladdin who passed out in the desert after the Heartless attacked him. The Dwarf Woodlands, on of the Birth By Sleep worlds, is looking for the other six dwarves that went after the Heartless. And in Wonderland, you fall down the rabbit hole looking for a way out.

Kingdom Hearts X[chi] uses a card battle system where you draw attack cards. These effect your attack and defensive power. Cards can be upgraded through synthesis and players can also use materials to strengthen their keyblade.

The fight at the end with the Darkside Heartless is a Raid Boss. During these battles, you can team up with friends.

Kingdom Hearts X[chi] will start an open beta test soon.

This actually looks pretty good, and I’d definitely play it (if I could)!

Oh and dat new Dearly Beloved!!!

  • Kaihedgie

Feels like a fanfic, except Disney is still a focal point in this all.

  • fawzowz

    so…. only for japan? =(

    • Suzaku

Hard to say, but being browser-based and Kingdom Hearts it seems like a no brainer as a source of revenue. I’d frankly be surprised if they don’t localize this one.

  • KHSoraKeyBlade

That new version of Dearly Beloved is amazing.

  • Prelude to the Keyblade Wars? Also the area shown with the cheery remix of Dearly Beloved is Radiant Garden in the distant past?

  • Gilgamesh2025

I hope it won’t be for Japan only!

  • Göran Isacson

Sooo it takes place during the Keyblade wars… yet Alladin, the person, exists. And he seems to be just as old as he is in the regular KH games.

Me suspects that either this game isn’t really gonna care THAT much about staying close to canon, or that little throw-away line of how every world has their own “time-scale” in KH3D means WAY more than I thought it meant.

Also, who is that mysterious “Final Fantasy X-summoner”-esque character we see before the big boss battle? And is that a moogle in a cat-costume, or an actual cat-creature?

    • XiaomuArisu

I dont think its the war…or a part of the story.
      Its a just-for-fun game

      • Göran Isacson

Buuut they state explicitly that it takes place during the Keyblade War. Like, I get that it will probably not be part of canon, but they have said that it IS supposed to be taking place during that period of time. It could that it’s just for fun, true, but it IS during the war. Every statement from them so far has said so.

        • XiaomuArisu

          ….Oh god…WHY?!?

          • Göran Isacson

I do not know man. I just do not know. Nomuras thoughts are hidden behind so many layers of zippers that they are simply impossible to decipher for mere mortals like us.

          • XiaomuArisu

yeah….KH story is not complicated, its just stupid because he changes the rules so often

      • Ixbran

well it was established in KH3D that time flows differently between worlds. So that could be one of the reasons that Aladdin and Alice are able to appear while still being the same age.

        • XiaomuArisu

          Was it?
I played KH3D cant remember that part, you sure?
I just remember how they destroyed the plot.

The cats name is Chirishi, that Summoner looking guy seems to be the leader of one of the 5 factions (if that is what the 5 animal heads in the beginning represent), and the game is NON-Canon, It seems to take place during the Keyblade War (they keep reciting the beginning of Kairis Grandmothers fairy-tale which is about the Keyblade war and the very first gameplay video opened with the words “This is the world of a distant fairy-tale”) but is NOT part of the series proper. It’s just a game for casual players to have fun with. It will have NO effect whatsoever on the future of the series.

      • Göran Isacson

Mmm, the five animal heads are apparently supposed to represent five different factions. That it is non-canon doesn’t really surprise me then (but just to be safe, do you have a source for the statement?), as it always kind of felt like an experiment… possibly a way to show the really hardcore fans an APPROXIMATION of what things were like back during the days of the keyblade wars, but not much more.

        • Steven Higgins

There was an interview in which Nomura called it a spin-off. Until KH III was announced he insisted that all hand held games were side games. The fact that, until recently, this was the only one he himself called a spin-off instead of a side game tells me he doesn’t consider it canon. I would link to the interview but it’s probably been buried in the data log of the site I got it from.

I have no idea if there are actually factions or not but either Xehanort or Vanitas said that there were several groups each seeking Kingdom Hearts for different reasons so that’s why I think the five animal are faction leaders.

  • SoundMatch

Now this is the only facebook game I would play.

  • Utku Savaş

As effective as Kingdom Hearts Mobile. Nothing to see, nothing to play, ergo, nothing canon. The title is actually good though. Pity they spend this original title to a browser game.

  • ShadowDivz

Google play worldwide. Would be awesome.
I just imagine people playing this on their phones/tablet.

  • Warboss Aohd

can i use the power o’ darkness instead?
