Level 5’s Youkai Watch Expands To iPhone As A Puzzle Game

Level-5 just released their latest RPG, Youkai Watch, for the 3DS this week. Now, they’re following it up with a free iPhone app that looks like Bejeweled with the Youkai Watch characters singing and dancing.

The app, titled Youkai Exercise Session 1: Puzzle Da Nyan, is a casual color-matching puzzle game where you use the touch screen to form rows of colored blocks while all of the humans and youkai from Youkai Watch exercise and sing on the top half of the screen.

Here’s a closer look at the exercise and the full song:

Youkai Exercise Session 1 will be available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. No release date has been announced yet, but if you live in Japan, you can pick up Youkai Watch for the 3DS right now.

I’ve seen the video so many times since yesterday, I love it!

All I saw was ‘Level 5′s Youkai Watch Expands To’ and my hype meter skyrocketed then read the rest of the title and got a frownie face.

Stop teasing my emotions and announce a localization! T^T

… I… don’t know WHAT that song was or what that pompadour-wearing cat was, but I know that it was adorable.

Why am I liking a mobile game? This is just wrong…

    3:10-3:40 made me laugh.

This is an interesting idea, it’s not the first time we’ve seen an already insteresting puzzle game made more appealing by background animations, but this time the song is just too catchy.

Now I fear for the next tease from Level-5.

I guess getting this would be fine, but sheesh I want the 3DS game so bad.
