Indie studio Pixilbionic are working on a brand new vehicular combat game, titled MotorGun, and have assembled a team of industry veterans to work on the project.

Among the development staff is David Jaffe, creator of God of War and Twisted Metal, along with Zack Norman, the creator of Interstate ‘76. Both developers are said to be “key members” of the team shaping the game creatively.

Joining Jaffe and Norman are other vets such as Scot Kramarich, who was the lead designer on Interstate ‘82, designer on Interstate ‘76 and senior producer on Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, and Tomo Moriwaki, who served as creative director on Spider-Man 2 and producer on Medal of Honor 2010.

MotorGun will feature “real-world” car physics and will allow you to extensively customize your vehicles with various tech trees as well as visually. You’ll be able to outfit your vehicles with different kinds of weapons and armour, customize how your car handles via replacing different parts, and more.

The game will take place in a post-apocalyptic future and will involve team-based, goal-oriented combat in a variety of environments such as abandoned cities and dried-up riverbeds. Game modes will include Convoy, Capture the Flag, Savage, and maybe more.

Pixilbionic is founded by Michael Maxx Kaufman, a founding member of InXile Entertainment. The studio is looking to raise $650,000 via Kickstarter, to allow the development of MotorGun on PC. You can watch their pitch above.
