Namco Bandai will release the first chapter of Super Robot Taisen: Operation Extend on Thursday via Japan’s PlayStation Store. Super Robot Taisen: Operation Extend looks like the usual mecha mashup with one exception, it’s an episodic PSP game.
You can purchase the first episode for 500 yen ($5) or all eight chapters for 5,980 yen ($60). Each chapter has about 20 missions and Namco Bandai plans to release additional missions as downloadable content.
Super Robot Taisen: OE also has parts like buffs that double the experience, EC, and money you get after a mission. The catch is these items are consumable. So, the Part Strengthening Item that increases the quality of parts dropped by defeated enemies only lasts a set number of times. Usually, that’s a number of missions like a five mission boost for 100 yen, ten mission boost for 200 yen, and a 30 mission boost for 300 yen. The parts item lasts after defeating 5, 15 or 30 enemies. Another item removes all of the remodeling limitations for one robot for 100 yen.
