Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F Was Rated For PS3 And Vita, Now ESRB Says Just PS3

By Spencer . July 16, 2013 . 5:54pm

imageSega will bring Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F outside of Japan. In North America, the music game will be distributed as a retail game and a PlayStation Network download in August. However, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F will only be released for PlayStation 3 in the West.

A number of readers sent in a tip that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F was rated by the ESRB as a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita title. Thanks to everyone who sent in the tip and we reached out to Sega for a comment since their announcement made no mention of the Vita version.

We are still waiting to hear back from Sega, but the ESRB rating has been updated.

Here’s the original rating…

…and the updated rating that only says Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is for PlayStation 3.

We will update this post if we hear back from Sega.

It was expected. Sega said PS3 only from the start.

  • Altin

Just as they planned – that still saddens me nonetheless…

  • KuroNathan

aww, I was hoping to use my AR cards and have a palmtop miku

  • TheExile285

ESRB sure does like to screw with gamers….

  • Jesse

Please make up your minds about this Sega, or ESRB, which ever one of you is being screwy.

    • TheExile285

ESRB has done this several times before so it’s probably their fault.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Leafy_Cam Leafhopper

Maybe its because I haven’t played any of the actual Miku games and only seen gameplay videos but, “Mild Violence”?

Anyone mind explaining that one to me?

    • pantsonadog

I’m guessing it’s the Rin song “Tokyo Teddybear” where she stabs her teddy bear..

      • http://twitter.com/#!/Leafy_Cam Leafhopper

Oh! Well that certainly counts I guess ._.

  • Cyrus

Well, I already have the Vita version… but… mild violence? where?

    • psycho_bandaid

The description from the esrb says there is a scene where a character is stabbed with a pointy object. I don’t recall seeing that in any of the songs, but I only have the vita version with none of the dlc.

      • doubleO7

Must be the song “Tokyo Teddybear”. In it, Rin stabs, well… her teddy bear.

        • Aphrodi

In that song Rin also gets stabbed~ ^-^

          • doubleO7

Oh, does she? For some reason I don’t remember that part… ~_~

  • Zonic505

Simple. PS3 is “F”, Vita is “f”. It was simply removed to correct the mistake!

    ….possibly…….maybe………..

  • ZekeFreek

    Fuck you, Sega. Fuck you.

    • Jesse

It might be a mistake by the ESRB; they’ve messed up like this before.

      • ZekeFreek

Don’t act surprised that Sega would ignore the Vita version.

        • Kevadu

Er, we already knew they were ignoring the Vita version. They announced that from the start. The surprise here was that the Vita version got rated at all…

          • ZekeFreek

I don’t care if we know it now or knew it earlier or know it later, let it be known Sega are dickfaces.

          • RichyGaming

Sega: Pff, less work for us.

    • RichyGaming

ZekeFreek: Fuck you, Sega. Fuck you.

      Sega: O-Oh.. my…-blushes-

    • Richard N

I think you’re misunderstanding the article, this is a good thing…. if it turns out to be true…..

    • http://jpoplove.eu/ jpoplove

Buy the Japanese version, what is your problem?

  • WhyWai

well..try not to have fault hope. still disappointed.

  • Christopher Nunes

OK, though it would’ve been nice to have another Vita game, I don’t mind the PS3 game.

So… how much is the game? $40 bucks, right? I’ll definitely get it!

    • FetusZero

I believe it’s $50 (or at least, for U.S. and Canada). Got mine pre-ordered a little while ago.

      • Christopher Nunes

Ugh… I want the game, but seems a little too much though but better than $60 the usual prices for PS3 games.

        • Kevadu

I paid about $100 for my import of the Vita version when it first came out. You guys are spoiled ;)

          • Christopher Nunes

More like I don’t get paid enough for all these games… I’ve worked at the same job for 3 years and not a single raise. :<

I really need to find better work.

        • http://jpoplove.eu/ jpoplove

Its cheaper then the Japanese version.

  • mockturtle

    “Mild lyrics”?!

GIRL. The lyrics are in Japanese. Ain’t nobody gonna know what she’s saying!

    • darryl scott

      *claps* my thoughts exactly

    • Zoozbuh

Yeah it’s not like they bothered translating them (from what I saw in the demo), so what’s the big deal? xD

  • xavier axol

oh please let that be a joke, a crude joke that ESRB pull out of their asses (cause you know, they are humorless). I mean, what will it cost sega to also bring the vita version? I think everyone would agree with me, that it wouldn’t be that much since they are also bringing the ps3 version.

  • tubers

    Too bad for me.

  • Keko

At least it didn’t get a “HIGH IMPACT SEXUAL VIOLENCE”.

Waiting warmly for an official release date!

    • Juan Andrés Valencia

I still find it funny that they use the exact same term for Atelier as well as in A Serbian Film. One’s actually extreme, the other one isn’t.

      • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Clearly you didn’t unlock the secret event scene…

  • Lester Paredes

    I’m not surprised.

  • RavenholtEX

    “Suggestive themes!?”
*remembers Meiko’s Nostalogic and Luka’s Megane*
    “Welp, never mind …”

    • 07thCrow

Don’t forget Miku’s “E? Aa, sou (Eh? Ah, yeah)”; now THAT was suggestive!

      • RavenholtEX

Oh yeah, I did forget that one. It kind of pelters out on the “suggestiveness” by the middle of the song, though, if I remember correctly. The two I mentioned take it all the way through.

  • chibiwall

    Noooo ç___ç

  • darryl scott

but serioulsy i had no intress what so ever to get this game at all. but looking at all the support on this site. im gonna buy it

  • Splinter

Noooooo… I want to play on Vita! =(

  • Zoozbuh

I never knew the Vita one was even planned to be brought over? At least it’s being localised at all! (But maybe I’m just biased because I don’t own a Vita and don’t care as much)

  • Jesse Thompson

Like many others, I had no clue they were going to localize it for PS Vita also…and if they did, that would just be more money I’d be throwing at them. :D I own both the PS3/Vita Jp versions and will be buying the localized version/s without a doubt. And DLC? You better believe it!

  • Aristides

…Guess I wont be getting this unless I import … >_> ***holes. But well at least they’re localizing the PS3 ver which seems like a miracle.

  • Antixono

Good thing I got a ps3,the demo got me hooked, can’t wait for this game.

  • artemisthemp

    Life have killed that dream.

  • IZUNA UCHIHA

me gruesta, but we better get haku and neru as dlc,
I kind of would like to see english voices for them (just for s n g)

  • http://so-very.me/ Jenny

    WHAT VIOLENCE?!

  • Antixono

What happens in Tokyo Tedduy Bear?

  • Antixono

Hmm I see good thing its T so i can play it,I don’t think sega would make a Miku game M.
